We were here a few years ago and had a very nice time , so this time on another cruise with different friends I booked another tour with Mr Sothy . The booking went very easy and we talked to Mr Sothy which place s we sould be visiting this time .
There are very big changes in Sihanouk Ville over the last year or two and there is a lot of construction going on . But we had a other great day visiting some temples , the fishing port , the market and the waterfalls . In the morning we also visited a school where the young children welcomed us we than went to the Don Bosco school where young men and women are learning trades for construction or for the tourisme . In the afternoon we also had a veru nice lunch at the Sandan restaurant where streetkids are being taught by there teachers to work for a living instead of begging or falling by the wayside .
We had a very nice day and can highly recommend Mr Sothy and his guides to show you some of Cambodia .

I had read the previous reviews on of Seaside Tours and contacted Mr Sothy.I posted the trip on the roll call for our recent cruise and approx 18 other passengers joined the trip aswell.Everything was managed very well.Communication beforehand with Mr Sothy was excellent.
At the chaotic port we were met by Mr Sothy and our delightful guide young Mr Sokhan,
As stated in previous posts Sihanoukville is not looking it,s best but the passion and the love that Mr Sokhan has for his country shines through.
We were brought to the local sights and had a coffee break and beautiful lunch with entertainment in the Don Bosco Hotel Training School.
During the bus ride Mr Sokhan told us a lot about the history and local customs of the area.We were particularly entertained with his stories about the custom of marriage dowries.
He also demonstrated he many uses of the scarf that he wore, and finished our trip by singing a local song.
We were so glad that we chose Seaside Tours and would recommend this company without hesitation.

My husband & I booked a city tour with Mr Sothy, the General Manager at Sihanouk Ville Seaside Tours, prior to arriving in Sihanouk Ville port.
We were so pleased to see our driver & guide holding up our names when we arrived at the gates outside the port. All other cruise passengers were hassled by taxi & rickshaw drivers, while we quietly got into our air conditioned van.
Our guide who spoke excellent English told us about the local area while showing us all the major sights including a children's school, the market, a fishing village & various temples. We also spent time swimming at the beach.
We had coffee & biscuits mid morning & then a very tasty lunch later in the day - both served at the Hospitality School.
Please be aware that Sihanouk Ville is not for the faint hearted. It is a building site which we really hope will be developed & completed in the near future as the local people we met are delightful & they deserve to see an improvement in their everyday lives.

We took a privately organized tour from our cruise ship with Sihanoukville Seaside tours. Kimmy was our warm & engaging guide. Mr Sothy, who manages the tour company, assisted with organizing & planning our tour. Both are passionate about helping visitors understand Sihanoukville.
The van that picked us up from the port was comfortable, and there was lots of cool water & face cloths to keep everyone refreshed. Sihanoukville is under major renovations, with a large parts of their roads torn up. It’s very bumpy & dusty. Added to the harsh landscape are the crass, imposing buildings & casinos that foreigners have built. We visited a working fishing village, Wat Akron & Wat Leu Pagodas, Phsar Leu Central Market, then went to the Don Bosco Hotel School for a delightful lunch prepared & served by students of the school. We were entertained by young dancers. Amidst all the upheaval & poverty, Don Bosco Hotel School provided a glimmer of hope that some of the youth will be able to overcome the adversity and build productive lives. Definitely a great tour.

We arrived by cruise ship and had pre-booked tour. We were so glad that we had. Sihanoukville is not an easy place to see alone. Mr & Mrs Sothy are a lovely young couple, both trained at Don Bosco school and keen to show their guests the best of the area. The minibus, guide, cold towels & water all made the trip very pleasant and interesting. Coffee & lunch at the school were great with traditional dancing for entertainment. We visited the fabulous market, fascinating fishermen’s village, Wat Krom pagoda, Independence monument, a lovely primary school, Otres beach. The development of the area by the Chinese is a disaster - miles upon miles of building sites and dusty roads. Everyone who took the official cruise tours said that they wished they’d stayed on the ship. We enjoyed our trip with Sihanoukville Seaside tours and would definitely recommend them.

We had a wonderful day with Mr Sothy and his wife who took extremely good care of our private group tour.
Mr Sothy is very passionate about his country and provided much insight and also attempted to teach us the basic greetings and how to count.
We visited the fish market, the local market, Independence Monument, Pagoda, Otres Beach etc.

There is so much development being undertaken by the Chinese in the way of Casinos, Resorts etc that in two years time I doubt you will recognise Sihanoukville as it was today.

Morning tea and Lunch were at the Don Bosco School hotel which provides those from the land the opportunity to be trained and gain employment in hospitality. Mr Sothy is a former graduate.
The food and service were excellent, and we not only enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of this school, but also a special treat of local dancers performing for us. How lucky were we.

If you wish to experience a real taste and understanding of Sihanoukville, and want a passionate and caring guide, then I would highly recommend a tour with Sihanoukville Seaside Tours.

We visited Sihanoukville on a cruise ship tour, and one of the other guests booked this tour which we joined. Sihanoukville is not a beautiful place to visit. It was the end of the dry season, and everything was dry, dusty and dirty. There is a large amount of construction taking place, but no basic infrastructure (like kerbing on the streets). Having said that, Mr Sothy was a wonderful tour guide, who obviously loves his city, even though he understands its flaws. Being able to see this place through the eyes of a local set this tour apart from any of the others I did on the cruise.
We were unable to visit the waterfall as it was dry, but we were taken to visit Otres Beach which was very beautiful. The coffee and lunch at the Don Bosco school were very good, and it was really interesting to hear about the work they do.
Overall, this was a very interesting day.

04/10/19 I booked Mr. Sothy’s tour months before our planned visit after reading all the reviews and extensive research. We planned to see and Elementary School and Waterfall amongst many other sights.
We were brought to Gate 1 where we were informed Mr. Sothy would not be our tour guide. We were given a different guide who first took us to the fishing village. This was fine and part of the plan. Unfortunately, our guide was not speaking very good English, was extremely difficult to understand and he seemed to be rambling on trying to convince us he was knowledgeable.
I asked about the Watwrfall and we were informed it was under construction and there was no water. I then asked to go to the Elementary School and was informed the children were on break and we could not go. I was very disappointed as I am a teacher and this was one of the main reasons I booked this tour.
The “guide” tried to tell us we were going to a beach-this was not part of our itinerary. He then stopped by a monument on the side of the road that also was not part of our plan. It was overrun with weeds and not a tourist place to visit at all.
We did go to one temple but by this time we were so disappointed and the guide was rambling on no one was paying attention any longer
We cut the trip short after 2 hours of riding around in a barely air conditioned van. I’m attaching pictures of everyone ignoring the guide and the side of the road monument where a tree is growing out of the top.
We never did make it to the hotel school for lunch so I can not review this part.

On a Port stop in Sihanoukville we booked via email through Mr Sothy who immediately replied to the request. He was waiting for us when we disembarked from the ship. Our guide on the minbus was excellent and we were plied with ice cold towels and water during the trip. We were shown round the fishing village taken to a market , a temple and given an excellent lunch in a Hotel school , with the food prepared for us by the students. We had a short stop at one of the beautiful beaches before being driven along the coast to see the new town that is springing up ,thanks (?) to the Chinese money and labour. In another few years this area will have changed totally and become "Little China" or rather BIG China, so it was good to see it before it changes Would certainly recommend this tour..Payment was taken at the end of the trip ( well, after the lunch) so no money is asked for beforehand
