Great brandies and if you have never tried absinthe - you much. The wines are not too shabby either. Very friendly - and willing to teach - great place - but please dont go and drink all the orange spice and amber malt brandy out from under us!

The owners/winemaker and his wife are almost always there. They are very nice and have a good selection of wine to taste. They also have spirit tasting available. Our favorite is the spiced orange brandy. It is fabulous.

Wasn't sure what to expect based on reviews but honestly this was one of our favorite visits in Livermore (and certainly up there with many of our faves in Napa/Sonoma). The earlier review is correct in saying that the place has moved into a more warehouse type setting, but really, I have seen wineries in all sorts of settings and sure, the view sometimes can make the experience if that is what you're looking for, but if you just want fantastic wine and extremely wonderful service, you'll love this place. We stopped in on a busy Saturday afternoon in early May. There were 2 other gentlemen tasting at the time, but the owner/server was quick to bring us glasses and start our tasting. Their wines were the best we've tasted in Livermore and definitely some of the best reds we've had. We bought several of their red blend and enjoyed it immensely in the weeks to come. It was dark but not heavy, spicy but not overwhelming, and just left the most delicious lingering taste on the tongue. If you appreciate good, knowledgeable and personable one-on-one service, and good wine, this is the place for you! Honestly I have been to many many wineries and I really get tired of the brush-off, half-assed attention you get at so many places. To have someone so friendly, who clearly cared about our visit and our tastes/wishes, was so refreshing and enjoyable. So get on over there and enjoy it!
P.S. The owner/pourer also said he might start a distillery soon so stay tuned for some exciting future reviews. :)

I was aware this winery had been forced to leave their prior location and unfortunately, they've taken up residence in a business park that has NO ambiance and a building that is colder than a refrigerator with little atmospheric comfort for tasting wine. I believe their wines are relatively good in general with the Dolcetto probably my favorite. Reasonably priced. I truly fear they just will not make it in this location...Unless more is done to improve the aesthetics...Wine Tasting is $5 and will be waived upon purchase of one of their wines.

We stopped in here for wine tasting and was greeted by a friendly woman who shared information about each wine we tasted. We visited a bit with her and bought some wonderful bottles of wine, The views around the tasting room were beautiful. Don't pass on these smaller wineries, you get a lot of personal attention...it was nice!

Many visits have brought understanding of small batch wineries and the passion that goes into these types of wine offerings. Michael Eckert does a superb job of making very affordable, tasty wine, for the so-called wine afficianado or for the novice. This little off-the-road winery deserves a look and a taste whenever you get to Livermore. Eckert Estate is on the West side of the valley and receives a-bit-less-traffic than the popular East side. If you need reference, Wente's restaurant and golf facilities are nearby. Try everything he has to taste and then buy a bottle or two of your favorite. Believe me, it will be affordable enough that you could still buy gas to get home and good enough to share with friends. Ensemble is one that I recommend to everyone. Stau awhile and chat with Vickie or Michael. They usually have Chocolate Truffles to purchase while you taste and there is Mustard tasting sometimes too. I rate this experience Very Good because it isn't average at all. Enjoy! A small tasting fee is usually refunded with your purchase...

This winery is small in size but the wines are, not-only a good value, but quite tasty. I recommend that you keep your nose in the glass here and not up-in-the-air because of the small size of the winery. A good selection and very affordable.
