This is a lovely monument, located just next to the ocean in Monterey.
While the area is highly overrated and over-swamped with tour busses, the monument that looks like a fountain is nice.

Pleasant stop on the Monterey Bay side of Cannery Row. This area is known as Steinbeck Plaza and the monument offers images of Steinbeck and his book characters.
Interesting monument. Plaza overlooks a small beach area and is surrounded by shops.

It’s not really an exciting stop but it’s on Cannery row so stop and take a photo. It does need cleaned up some. Each of the statues mean something to Cannery Row . Interesting

A pretty photogenic spot for anyone on Monterey. Plus there is a little beach in front of it too. Worth a look.

The Cannery Row area is a must visit for visitors. Some very good restaurants around. The Cannery Row Monument offers some great pictures.

It's fun to walk around Cannery Row and maybe have lunch at a good fish restaurant. This monument stands out on the landscape and on the water.

Good to see a cross-section of characters through the history of Monterrey. Would be great to have a smartphone-based audio narration that a person could listen to that describes the people depicted in the monument. The area is a nice place to sit and enjoy the sunshine and see the bay.

Although our tour guide explained all the people in the monument, John Steinbeck to a Madam, I don't remember them all. The scenery was beautiful and a lot was to be learned about the people in the monument.

I'm not sure how much one is meant to "enjoy" a comparatively small monument, but I suppose that we did. It is nice. Nice view, etc. But it's a monument.

There is a nice bed and breakfast a little bit away by Lovers Point. This is a quite nice area . The ones by the Cannery Monument are lodging and hotels. Marime Inn and Seven Gables inn are quite nice There are several others. Have a nice time.
