The hatchery is the oldest still running. Beautiful fish and it’s free a nice park next to it. There is no one to tell how it works so that was kind of disappointing as we wanted to know how it all worked. But there is literature in the museum/ gift shop.

We had fun seeing all the salmon at the fish hatchery. They have free food to toss out to the salmon This is quite fun to do as one walks by to see them all. The attraction is free and its next to a park and city museum.

Great place to view some huge trout. This place has been in operation for quite a while, and is interesting to visit when in the area. Free admission and fun time for kids of all ages.

I've never visited a fish hatchery before. It was fascinating to see how the fish are separated in different areas. There are hundreds of trout and salmon of all sizes.

This is a location that never disappoints. Be sure to grab a handful of fish food and for a quarter you can be entertained by the crazy fish and their antics! Take the time to walk along all of the pools and see the various sizes of fishes and then go inside to learn about the operation that has been going on here for decades. And be sure to visit the museum too - great dioramas and Mt. Shasta history and lore! Have a picnic on the grounds which are beautiful!

As we drove in to visit, we were told they were doing a free kids fishing day. Detoured on the property to go catch a fish. We heard this was a family friendly activity, where you can normally feed the fish. The fishing made the visit really fun. Check out there schedule, as they said they do it a few times this year.

Free fish hatchery right next to the Museum. You can get fish food to feed what seems like millions of fish of different ages/ sizes. The hatchery building was not in use during this time but the outdoor pools of fish were just mesmerizing.

If you are curious to see zillions of baby trout and find out how they are raised – the hatchery is set among old trees, on the way to Lake Siskiyou. Fun stop for kids, too.

Neat to see how they raise the fish, learned many things I did not previously know. It was very hot and there is little shade.

We visited July 6th. The fish food is free and feeding the trout outside I the pens is very fun. Don't miss the indoor building where the small fry are swimming around in smaller troughs. There were tons of them and they were headed out to area lakes in the next few weeks. The staff at the Hatchery was very helpful.
