We popped in on our way to Palm Springs. The staff do an amazing job and the animals here all have space to run around. Some cats and dogs will live their lives out here but they are loved and cared for. If you are thinking of adoption please visit this place and see the wonderful animals they have rescued

I've visited Living Free several times and amaze at the love, comfort, attention that they give the animals who are waiting for their forever homes. The animals all seem happy, some with emotional issues that with all the love and attention bring out their beautiful personalities. The manager is from Puerto Rico, where I lived at one time rescuing the animals off the island and where the island is known for the lack of respect for the animals. It was wonderful to see him at Living Free giving back to the animals. It truly is an amazing place even just for a visit. Kudos to the team at Living Free for being so prepared during the recent fires that they evacuated all of the animals within the hour and the sanctuary was saved. Kudos and love to all of those at Living Free.

Camping in Idyllwild we stopped here on the way home just to see what it was all about. What an amazing place for animals looking for a home. The facilities are the best I've ever seen and the volunteers who give their time to this worthwhile organization are true animal lovers. The cats have access to both indoor and outdoor areas and the dogs have large yards with raised dog houses and indoor areas when the weather is colder. The selection of both cats and dogs is amazing.

This serene place was filled with caring and knowledgeable dog and cat people. What a tranquil setting. We adopted a beautiful healthy dog named Ruby. Although we were there to interview for a different dog, the staff demonstrated flexibility and adapted to our needs. They Introduced us to a newcomer named Ruby. She was quite shy but had such potential. We are thrilled to have her.

This was our sixth visit to living free in the last 18 years or so. It is a must do if you are in the area and want to visit with the dogs and cats that they rescue and try to find forever homes. The care the animals receive is outstanding and the property itself is spotless. We brought sandwiches with us and ate at the picnic area watching blue jays, woodpeckers, and squirrels run around. The staff is very friendly and greets you with a warm smile. We were driven on a golf cart to view the dogs and dropped off at the cattery to spend time with the cats/kittens/ and 2 bunnies. If your in the area go and visit 11-4 except Wednesday. Easy drive from Palm Springs area.

I've visited Living Free Multiple times. It's located about 10-15 minute drive from downtown Idyllwild and just a few moments from Lake Hemet. Although I have not rescued a pet due to constant travel, I do highly recommend animals lovers take the time to visit Living Free Animal Sanctuary. The grounds are majestic. It's the perfect place for animals who need rescuing to wait for YOU. They have cats and dogs and they also rescue equines.
Many friends and folks who visit Idyllwild ask about Living Free. If you were not aware the Mayor of Idyllwild is a DOG. Idyllwild is referred to as The DOG FRIENDLIEST TOWN in AMERICA and Living Free is part of this culture.
If you are visiting Southern California take your time and explore Living Free. You may Find The Love of your Life here.

If your a dog are cat lover this is a unbelievable must see place. I have never seen anything like this as a rescue and adoption center in my life, and I'm 68 years old, a place like no other. This great organization rescues dogs and cats from "KILL" animal shelters whose time has run out, virtually their last day. They then take them to what is the finest animal sanctury for dogs and cats anywhere, 160 acres with private runs and facilities for animals. No dog are cat is ever caged.The setting is in the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains. I could go on writing about this organization for hours, suffice it to say it worth your time and effort to visit in person with the whole, or visit their web-site www.living-free.org and please donate if you can, better yet adopt if possible.
