Vendors offered great epicurean delights; art, music, clothing, jewelry...the list is too long to mention. We visited both the day time and evening Markets - with both unique and enjoyable.

This is your normal 'Farmers' Market but does have a lot of prepared food. I over heard that people come every week to get the specially prepared food. I did buy 1 basket of strawberries. Check the prices the next booth over had their single basket for $1.00 more. I also bought home made Low Sugar Strawberry jam. Both strawberries and jam were delicious.Just a reminder you have to eat the berries like NOW.
Important to note. Some masks, not 6 foot distance and they DID have samples.

If COVID wasn't going on this would be a great farmers market. Their website is very misleading in terms of protocols and safety. We drove all the way up this morning to visit the farmers market because of how strict they sound like so thought it would be safe for high risk person. We were glad to get out and get some fresh produce and other foods finally and not rely on shoppers/delivery for produce. Well, it was a gorgeous morning and most vendors were pleasant and following protocols, but there were a handful that didn't have mask/face coverings on and some had only face shields which are ONLY used to protect eyes NOT replace mask. They also had a musician there singing (beautiful music) but you can't social distance appropriately for a singer to stay safe due to close proximity singer is to where people are. So that wasn't a safe area. Then the website states how they are strict and enforce social distancing and wearing masks but that isn't true either. So many people had their mask pulled down and people do NOT social distance. And no one around enforcing. Same with entrance and exits as stated on website. You can enter and leave at any spot without encountering an official person keeping track like mentioned on website. So you can't believe anything on their website and if you are questioning safety concern to go, you may not want to go to this one. The Farmers Market in La Mesa is a GREAT one AND SAFE!

So we are back in the middle of a pandemic. We were happy to see that the Thursday morning farmers market was still something we could visit. The rules were clear; masks must be worn, maintain a 6 foot distance from other shoppers, no pets, touch free market, shop and go. We felt good about the possibilities. We got there, found a parking spot, masked up and off we went. Coming up to the market we were noticing a lot of people with no masks on and not having an single "shoe" to give about the 6 foot social distance requirement. We get into the market and though almost everyone was indeed wearing a shield or a mask they were right up on ya, and dogs and loitering and yeah...it was super stressful. There was also a health fair going on outside of the library that we thought was part of the market and those people, HOLY MOLY CALIFORNIA!! Do you NOT understand that you are in the lead for confirmed cases of COVID 19 at the moment? People RUNNING the stands NO MASK, and the majority of folks walking around NO mask or mask not being worn properly. UGH. We did see a few people from the Oceanside Authority walking around, but as much as the website says that the rules will be enforced, I did not see a single person approached about their poor behavior. This made the situation way to stressful to shop. We headed out and back to our safe air bnb. SO sad, we were looking so forward to some local produce and some tea and shortbread. Oh well, maybe next time...

Maybe it just winter here, very few tents, our farmer market has over 300 tents and lots food carts. For the carts they had the product was fresh we did buy the fresh bread twice and was very good. Friends of the library was open and we got five books for 3.50.

Do some fun "booth watching" while you pick up a lunch of crepes, gyros, sandwiches, etc, while you hunt for art, trinkets and baubles as well as farm fresh foods and flowers. There's also home made honey, dips and salsa, olives and olive oil, wearing apparel, seashells, etc.,etc. Just too much to list so go and enjoy.

There’s no shortage of these in San Diego county, and this one in particular is very close to where I live, so yes, I’m biased to love going here.
And many of the vendors are sure to be at other markets around the county, but, you just can’t beat some of the organic foods in particular found here every week.
My favorite and regular go to stalls include:
Smit’s Farms, for the BEST apples I’ve ever eaten (when in season); and
The Greek fellow who sells delightful olives and cheeses, while sharing his life stories in the fashion industry.
If you live in or are just visiting Oceanside and can make this Thursday morning (9am-1pm) experience, you won’t be disappointed!
I’ve been going for 30 years now, and still love it! It’s a good time for the entire family.
Oh, and don’t miss the Friends of the Oceanside Library who also sell great books, etc. for great prices.

We had a fun time at the Farmer's Market. Excellent fruit and vegetable choices. Even a small fresh fish stand. Will make this place a weekly visit👍

Last night we decided to checkout the Thursday Night event in downtown Oceanside, NEVER AGAIN. I saw people drinking alcohol openly. I smelled pot in the air. Homeless tucked into various alcoves. The crowd is too large for the minimum streets closed for the event. There was minimal police visibility. This is a poor representation for Oceanside’s attempt to improve their image.

Does this Farmers Market still operate? My family and I will be staying at the Lawrence Welk Resort this mid May and I was looking for other fun options.

We visited Oceanside, California for a week in early November and the Farmer's Market was open on Thursdays in the morning to early afternoon - then closed for a few hours and reopened in late afternoon into the evening. We visited from Florida and were surprised at the many food vendors; quality clothing & jewelry vendors; organic food (cheese;wine;produce etc) vendors and live music. It is the best Market we have visited in the United States (reminds me of Italian markets).

Sorry, Oceanside Farmer's Market is Thursday morning from 9:00am to 1:00pm and the Oceanside "Sunset Market" starts from 5:00 to 9:00pm same day. I apologize for the misunderstanding, but worth checking out.
