Awful- Dishonest

I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this one deserves it. I booked a 2 hour tour over a week in advance, confirmed via text with Lois. I arrived 30 min early for our 1:00 start time. At about 1:10 I called her to be sure I was in the right place, and she told me she was rounding up some horses and running late, but would be there in 30 min. About 10 min later, she texted me saying that she was sick and was going home and wouldn't be able to do our tour. Having come from thousands of miles and only in town for a few days, I was so upset. Luckily, "The Buckarettes" were also at this location getting ready for a 2:00 ride and had 2 extra horses and graciously welcomed my son and I into their group. The final straw, and the reason for this review, was that just before 2 as we were heading out with the Buckarettes, Lois pulled in and met another party to take them on a tour. So- I was totally lied to. I'm not sure if she double-booked and instead of being honest and owning up to it she just decided to lie and assumed I'd be long gone by then...but I was just disgusted by the lack of consideration. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend this company. I highly recommend The Buckarettes. They were professional, friendly, and very fun.

Great experience!

Two adults and 4 teenagers went on the hour and half ride through the beautiful redwood Forest. The trail guides were informative and made sure that we were very safe on the horses. They check the saddles several times and gave helpful hints along the way as to how to handle the horses properly. We had a great time. I definitely recommend this trip.

They canceled!

I made reservations for my family to horseback ride months before our vacation. It wasn’t until 3 day before our scheduled ride that they canceled on us. Very disappointed.

Great place nice ride through the redwoods the staff are great and knowledgeable about what horses you should be on with your experience level, i myself dont like riding in a line but was fun, thanks for the experience of riding through the redwoods

Wonderful ride with beautiful horses and excellent guides!

We loved our ride through the redwoods with our guide. We highly recommended for all ages. Views from the trail were stunning and we even saw 3 bears!

Spectacular way to see the Redwood Forest.

The really catered to making this a wonderful experience. They make sure that everyone at every level is comfortable and taken care of. They stop along the way and tell you about the history and will take your picture at specific sites. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Would do this again.

The best way to experience the Redwoods!

There aren't enough words to describe what an amazing ride through the Redwood Forest we had! Lois was so incredibly kind, she fielded all of my calls when I was deciding dates and times and was so enjoyable to ride with. We stopped for photos and were never once rushed through our ride! We rode Callie and Shadow, both very easy, sure footed horses, perfect for riders of any experience level. So happy we chose Lois and her horses! An awesome experience all around!

This was one of my favorite things I did during my stay in northern California. It truly is a horse ride through an amazing growth of redwoods. Lois is funny and knows a lot of the area she brings you through. She stopped several times to line my group up for pictures, check our straps and saddles, and to give snackies to the horses. We walked among very large, tall trees and the horses were great and knew exactly what was expected of them .I wanted to do this again but didn't have time on the trip. I cannot recommend this enough, even if you have no experience with horses.

Quiet horses with spectacular views

Seeing the Redwood forest up close and personal was a delight. Lois had a nice head of horses that were very quiet and careful along the trail. We are horse people and appreciated the condition that her horses were in and the way that they were so quiet and "picked" their way along the trail. The forest was glorious up close and personal!

Wish we would've chose the longer ride!

Amazing! This was the first vacation my boyfriend and I had taken without our horses. We decided to find a local place to ride horses while visiting the Redwoods. Having rode horses my whole life and owning some of my own, ANYONE could ride any of their horses. Very well trained and well mannered. You could ride these horses if you'd never rode before and feel safe. The ladies there are very informative of what to do, and make you feel safe. They also give you a "history lesson" on the trail ride of the trees and forest. Recommend this place to anyone. Very very impressed.
