This place is gorgeous especially this year. There was so much water flowing and the water was so cold! We couldn’t do part of the trail due to the water (I think with older kids it would have been fine- my daughter is 5). There was plenty shade and it was covered in trees. The palm trees were massive, something I’ve never seen before. I thought I was in a real forrest. Worth a trip.

An absolutely beautiful trail, easy to moderate for the 3 mi Palm Canyon Victor Trail loop. Definitely some ups and downs and slightly rocky parts and two stream crossings (dry rocks to jump onto), but relatively easy most of the time, some moderate parts. Just magnificent stunning views and so many photo ops you'll stop a lot! The last half mile was truly the longest as we felt we were not approaching the visitor center, but winding toward the bottom of the bottom of the road. Highly recommend going down the slope at the visitor center picnic tables and coming up the back parking lot, not the other way around - this starts with the oasis first.

The museum feels more like a gallery because of it's small size. The exhibition was high quality and well organized. I took off one star because it was crowded when I went and I had to weave around to different spots in order to get around folks standing in front of one or two pieces for too long. Totally broke up the flow of the exhibition, but that's not really the museum's fault. Just something to be aware of when planning the time of day you go. Otherwise, very nice experience.

Visited with our 2 and 5 year olds. Very scenic and easy to get around. Gorgeous sceneries and easy hiking. Would definitely recommend for first time visitors.

We spent about 90 minutes here. Heavy duty hickers went much further that we did. We got there when the place opened and it was pleasant but by the time we left it was very hot.

We hiked the Victor Loop, which consists of the Palm Canyon Trail in one direction and the Vector Trail back to the trailhead (or vice versa) - 4.5 km total. Of all the hiking we did over 2 days in Joshua Tree National Park and 2 days Palm Springs, this trail was one of our favourites. You pay to get in to the Indian Canyons, but it's well worth it. We arrived in the early afternoon and had time to do both this trail and the Andreas Canyon, a short 1.6 km loop which is also beautiful. Both trails are easy and also easily accessible from Palm Springs. Highly recommended.

The Palm Canyon trail is gorgeous. It hugs a stream for some of the way keeping it relatively flat and it is shaded by the large number of fan palm trees. There are picnic tables so bring your lunch. There are also several trails off of Palm Canyon trail to explore as well. It will not disappoint.

This trail has everything: challenging terrain; flat areas to sit and enjoy the beauty; water running through it; palm trees. Some is sunny and some is shady. So bring water, a hat and sunglasses. We went on a weekend and there were families with children as well as serious hikers. You pay a nominal fee to enter the area and have a choice of hikes. there is a parking lot adjacent to the trailhead.

We hiked the Palm Canyon to Stone Pools trail in January 2020. The trail features a fairly long (1000’) uphill section that takes you from Palm Canyon up onto the ridge line. From there it is a little over an hour to the Stone Pools There is abundant vegetation along the trail and some wildlife. The pools were free flowing with water. We had an enjoyable lunch sitting on the rocks next to the pools then a hike back out.

Beautiful setting with lots of geographical interests, scenery and just nice walks available from the visitor center or drives from the entrance. We "hiked" with children, so we did not get as far along the trail as we might have done just in the company of adults -- but there's so many things to explore along the way. Could be a tennis shoe walk, but hikers help with mud or loose rocks along the pathways. Hat and water highly recommended.
