The farm is child and adult friendly with lots of activities throughout the year. There are demonstrations and opportunities for children to learn what farm life was like during the Victorian era and later.

I visited the Forest Home Farms Historic Park. Its fun to see the animals such as horeses and sheep. The home is historic. There is a windmilll. Do check the hours to go inside the house. Its still fun to walk and take photos of the outside,

This is a good movie theatre to visit; close to lots of amenities and short distance to freeway. The complex is small and has friendly staff to great you. Fresh popcorn invites you to indulge. A good size parking lot makes it easy to park your ride and get to your show when it’s time.

Historic site. Docents very knowledgeable. Tractor exhibit extraordinary. Daniel Boone descendants lived her.

Nice place to visit with small children or to attend an event. This place is closed on Sundays. I'd check the event board and find an event your family would like and go visit. They have Saturday Free program days.

We enjoyed a visit to the 'farm' park last week after a recent rainstorm
There are sheep in the pasture and a couple of horses in the barn
I would imagine that spring is a pretty time to visit as various plants start
to bloom.
We will go back in a few weeks to see what the HUGE Wisteria looks like on the
back side of the main house once it starts to bloom

The City of San Ramon has really ramped up the programs at the farm over the last year. Considering that most everyone on-site is a volunteer, this is an outstanding program, and you can tell the docents really care about the farm and the community. For a ZERO $ admission (please make donations!) - it is one of the best deals out there. You can picnic all week long, now that the farm is open most days. You'll feel like you stepped back in time, despite the freeway and major arterial road out front. A nice enjoyable place - oh, and Don't Miss the Tractor Museum! A Must See!

It's amazing to see your home as a historic site. Many years ago my family lived on the Circle E ranch next to and behind the Boon's..it was 250 acres. We raised sheep and cattle and walnuts. I remember an old sign we had, San Ramon, population 142.
Before 680, before any homes. Where Pine Valley is there was just open files where we let our sheep graze. I remember building one of the barns next to the tractor storage barn. So many artifacts in the Glass House our from our home. I spent many days with Travis and Ruth Boones especially during walnut harvest time in the Valley. The memories are rich but alas development changed everything.....

This is a great look back 50-150 year. Take time to see the tractor barn with over 50 vintage tractors. The walnut harvesting exhibit is great too.
