This museum is operated totally by volunteers; the displays had comprehensive captions; gift shop boasts wide variety of books, maps, local arts and craft. Venue extremely clean; docents very knowledgeable. A tribute to passion of local community to preserve its legacy.

This museum has grown over the years, from a room in the courthouse basement to a large multi-floor museum with outbuildings and barns. It is a comprehensive showcase of the history of Trinity County and California Gold Rush.

Amazing museum, things are labled well, good historical displays...interesting to kids as well.a few interactive displays and nice gift coubter. It's worth your time to visit.

It's always nice to see how and when a town became what it is and how it turned into what it is today. You get to see all the old tools they used some old service rifle and an old jail cell. Plus a bunch of other interesting things.

Lots of small towns have museums and this is a very good one with a comprehensive range of artefacts. There is plenty to capture the interest of every visitor.

Enjoyed a quick visit with a very knowledgeable staffer who assisted us with our family history search of the area. We arrived near closing, much to our dismay, or would have enjoyed a longer visit as we have ancestors who populated the area. It is well run and the exhibits well presented. Wished we had more time.

We visited with our grandchildren and had only a short time to look around. One could easily spend a couple of hours here. Good telling of the Chinese history as well as many other facts of that era. Highly recommended!

We totally enjoyed our visit to the museum. It covers historical aspects of the town, the Chinese miners, native Americans, gold mining. Two old jail cells are in the basements. Adjacent to the museum are several buildings with a stage coach and other old conveyances, a blacksmith shop, and a gold flume. We highly recommend the museum.

This is an extremely nice museum, especially for a small town. Including the outdoor exhibits, the stamp mill, and additionally housed artifacts, one can easily spend several hours there.
