Train conductor billy was on time at the platform and was silky smooth ride around the park. Thoroughly recommend a ride!

We’ve lived in the area for nearly 40 years & we took our children and now our grandchildren on this amazing train.
It hasn’t changed a bit..still run by very friendly volunteers & the price still amazes me 50p per person.
As previous reviews have said it’s open on Sundays but it is also open on Wednesdays in the school holidays.

open on sundays can have a go round the track only 50p in the honesty box ,friendly people at chassen park and good for family when it is nice weather

3 Generations of our family all enjoying the railway together. It was lovely experience and great to share with my daughter and grandchildren.

Really special experience, children get to see the workings of a steam train (although miniature as they are) with the smells of oil, smoke, steam - fantastic. The train operators are friendly and welcoming. Such a fab experience at such a low cost, rare thing these days. There is also an infant and older child playgrounds adjacent as well as a green park. Highly recommend.

Took my little one on if for the first time. Not sure she knew what was going on, but I loved it. Took me back to my childhood. Can’t wait to return. Excellent park next to it.

Excellent place to take the kids. Lovely mini steam train ride that only cost about 30p.

Flixton park is a nice park to visit. Only small but the little model railway is a snip at what used to be 20p but it has probably gone up a bit now.

Good afternoon JPersil, Thank you for the kind words. Charge for children and adults is 30p. We run every Sunday. During summer holidays we run on Wednesdays. Weather permitting of course.

We go to this park on a regular basis, the play ground area is really good. There is a toddler section and another part for older kids. There is plenty is space to run around and there are lots of dog walkers there too. There are tennis courts if you fancy a match and on certain days it's worth getting tickets for a trip on the steam train around the park. Kids will love it.

Will the miniature railway be open over the Easter Bank holiday weekend and when?

The railway will be open on Easter Sunday And Bank Holiday Monday from 11am - 3pm approximately. Weather permitting of course. Hope the weather is good for everyone.

Hello CarlNewby, Unfortunately we don't run on Saturday. Our normal running service is Sunday 11am - 3:15pm weather permitting.

Hi Natalie F, There was a International competition that Urmston & District MES was hosting over the weekend and unfortunately couldn't run the normal Sunday service. Back to normal Sunday service on 31st July. In addition while the school summer holidays the club runs on a Wednesday between 11am - 3pm. Weather permitting of course. Rides still only 30p.
