Our trip down the river was AMAZING! Our guide (Katie) was so experienced and took the time point out special sites and tell historic stories about the area. The entire staff was super positive, funny and energetic. We always felt safe and informed. The Outpost was comfortable and provided everything we needed. Thank you AVA!

Was very organized organization. When we arrived got us fitted for gear then got on bus where all instructors were given. Nate was out guide and did a great job telling the boat what to do. Had a fun trip! I would reccomend . We did the class 4 -want to come back to do earlier in summer with higher waters !

This was my family’s first white water rafting trip. We had such an amazing time! Ryan aka Fence was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and fun! We would definitely book another trip with AVA rafting!

What started out as an amazing day was ruined in the end by an uninformed attendant who didn't understand customer satisfaction and had no empathy for the delays caused by a mistake her company made.
Our original reservation was made on line. We chose to do a 1/2 browns canyon raft plus (+) the via ferrata experience. We were given the option to receive a discount if we paid for everything prior our arrival. Additionally we chose to include the photo package as part of our purchase.
On the night prior to our event we received a phone call from the company telling us that the state inspectors had not completed the inspection on the Via Ferrata so it would not be available. We were offered the rock climbing activity as a substitution and were informed that because each ticket was $25.00 less than what had been selected we would be credited the difference upon arrival.
When we arrived, we asked about the refund and were informed that the staff had to contact the owner. We proceeded with the morning and had a great time rock climbing with our belayer-- TJ. He was patient, informative and extremely helpful in assisting us. Our lunch was disappointing. We had been told that it would be made on site and would be served warm. Instead, we received pre made wraps with condiments that consisted of items that some family members can't eat and didn't come close to the advertised meal option. Nevertheless, the rock climbing with TJ was a good time.
Our white water rafting couldn't have gone any better. Our guide's name was Sebastian. He and the other guides kept the entire bus load of attendees laughing during the instructions and ride to the river. Sebastian had a vast knowledge of the river and its surroundings. As a guide, he was instrumental in making our adventure fun, exciting and informative. It was truly was of the best adventures we've ever had.
When we returned, we once again asked about our refund, not that we needed it right away but we wanted to apply it to our guides gratuity. No-one at the front counter could provide an answer. They kept saying that they had to refer to the manager on duty. We waited and waited. We couldn't understand the difficulty in the request-- the activity we got was $25.00 per person less than what we paid for. Simple math-- multiply it by the four people and we should have a $100 credit. The front clerk apologized for our delay and reluctantly summoned the manager again. As she walked out she emphatically said, "We don't owe you a refund. The rock climbing was more expensive than the Via Ferrata but we adjusted the price..."
"I think you're incorrect. We paid for a more expensive item and was told we would receive a refund so that's what we're entitled to."
After several back and forth's, I asked her to pull our original invoice and verify it to what was advertised on their own website which substantiated my original statement. We paid for more and received less...
A short time later the manager walked back out and said, "The sales department has taken care of it. They'll issue the refund. Have a good day..."
In the end, her attitude and demeanor ruined what was an amazing day. This should not diminish the efforts of the guides. In the end, know what you're paying for. Clarify the costs and enjoy the day. It's unfortunate that the entire review must encompass the totality of the day. Their customer facing employees deserve a 5-star. The manager and her inability to solve issues deserves a 1-star.

Our bachelorette crew had the absolute best time zip lining today! TJ and Spencer made the experience so much fun and we’re very informative! We would 100% recommend going here!

Garrett and the other guides Monday morning were fantastic! The team made sure we were dressed appropriately for the weather and how wet we would get. The safety meetings were informative and fun. Once on the river Garrett did all the work and we got to enjoy some beautiful scenery and the boys (13&17) had a blast on the class II and III rapids. We will definitely come back and try class IV! Our guides and the team really made this a great experience for us!
TJ and Kira were equally as fun and skilled when it came to zip lining. We were the last group of the day but you’d have thought we were the first. Their enthusiasm for us being there was so much fun for the boys and I. It was the perfect ending to a great day with AVA in Buena Vista!

Oh my goodness!!! We had the best time today on the Arkansas river and Shawn was an amazing guide. He was so kind and patient with our family (2 adults, a 16 year old and 2 -14 year olds). It was a terrifying (totally out of our comfort zone, plus we are all very inexperienced) yet totally exhilarating experience. I felt very safe and secure with Shawn in command, which is a lot for a mother who had her children racing down the river…and did not have the ability to protect them if something did happen. He was very clear in his instructions and gave gentle suggestions when necessary. He prepared us for what was coming up and educated us what do do if we did fall in. He was hilarious and kept us laughing the whole time we were on the river. We all had an amazing time…definitely a highlight of our Colorado trip. This is our 2nd experience with AVA in 4 years and would highly recommend the company for all your white water rafting needs. Thank you for a fabulous experience!!!

It was a blast! Our guide, Palmer was the best! We took the half day float. Everyone was helpful and very friendly. We will use this company again. We are staying in Breckinridge, it’s about a one hour drive. The scenery is beautiful. :-)

We were looking for another activity after a great day of rafting with another company and stumbled upon the Via Ferrata experience at Ava. Seriously, so amazing! My husband, 2 teen boys and me enjoyed the trip far more than anyone expected and would absolutely do it again! We got to do 4 zip lines and several transverse with a 100 foot drop. I’m generally afraid of heights, but felt like a bad*** when done. I will be looking for more Via Ferratas when we travel on future trips. Take your Go Pro. I didn’t and definitely wish I had more pictures!

We had a great experience with staff and guides from AVA. Cade was an excellent guide informative and entertaining on the Browns Canyon rafting trip fun class 3. We spent the afternoon with Brock and Derek ziplining these guys made the afternoon fun and so easy. We stayed in the Missouri cabin right on site for convenience. Great fajita lunch onsite.
