A beautiful park where you can walk, run or bike by the sea. They have plenty of benches to sit and have a bite to eat or just look at the water. Some folks actually fish right of the sidewalk. It is very peaceful and quiet, essentially a neighborhood park. Usually on the weekend of the 4th of July you can also see the fireworks.

Had to stop here in Black Rock. Made a quick visit to the park to take a break and walk along the Ocean. Beautiful views and nice quiet place. The Black Rock community is a nice ocean side town with a very laid back feeling. Enjoyed our visit here.

Used to live near to St. Mary's over by King St. on Black Rock. Nice little area where you can walk and take a nice repose. A must see if you are in Bridgeport.

Fantastic views! Walk along the cement walkway and when you get all the way to the east end wander down to the beach and collect seashells. The views are breathtaking. A great place to get your exercise.

St Mary's combines a 1/2 mile seaside walk with a 1/4 mile marsh side walk. Depending on the tide, the Marsh area is sometimes more interesting

We drove there and parked and sat on one of the benches and picnic tables and took in the amazing scenery. It was lovely, sunny day. Perfect!

I have been coming to St Mary's since I was a young child. Each time we came to visit my grandparents we would make the short trip out to the park. It is a beautiful area to spend some time fishing or just admiring the sound.

St. Mary's by the Sea is one of the 3 great coastal parts of Bridgeport. It's on the west shoreline, separated from Fairfield by Ash Creek, with its eastern end ending within the boundaries of beautiful Black Rock Harbor and its view of Fayerwether Light. The park is 22 skinny acres with sidewalk from east to west, and a gorgeous view of Long Island Sound. Benches and picnic tables are available, and it is well-traveled by local Black Rockers and by out-of-towners. WARNING; Periodically,our local police DO check to see if you have a parking sticker.

St. Mary's by the Sea is really just a dedication to an old-time facility that no longer exists, although it does have an interesting story. But now there is a really nice road and very wide walk-way that runs immediately beside the Bay. Along the walkway are small signs explaining the fish and flora of the sea-side area. The walk is about a quarter mile (I'm not good at these kind of estimates) but it is very pleasant and well worth a visit. People sit on benches and enjoy the breeze, others fish from the rocks; it is a very people and family friendly place to enjoy quiet and loveliness near a very busy "city" region. The old houses you will see on the drive to the parking areas are beautiful and many are old. There is road-side parking that is very handy. Nearby - about 1 mile north - is a really pleasant little Deli called Harbor View Market that is excellent for breakfast before or pastries or lunch after you walk. Together, St. Mary's and Harbor View Market make a perfect morning or afternoon outing.

Saint Marys by the Sea is a park, a walkway along the edge of the Ash Creek nature preserve to Long Island Sound and around to the Bridgeport channel. There's a grassy hillside along the walk, often shaded by trees. Bench are available for enjoying the view and families often picnic at the picnic tables and on the hillside. There's always a breeze off the water. One sees all ages: seniors, couples, solo adults and children. Some fish from the side of the walk or the rocks. The sunrise over a lighthouse, and the sunset to the west over the salt marsh and Sound view need to be seen and enjoyed.
