Longtime Eero Saarinen fan so have wanted to see The Whale in person for a long time. Finally made it to the Yale U campus, so stopped here for a brief visit on a Wednesday morning in May. We looked at it from across the street. We walked all around it. And we looked into it through the glass front doors. Interesting structure! Love the flowing lines! Took more than a few photos.

We have friends that are season ticket holders with another couple. When the other couple cannot go, we are invited. It is a great venue and Yale has had a great team for a few years. They are a division 1 league and games are very exciting! It’s a great time in New Haven especially when we stop for Pizza first in one of New Haven’s awesome pizzeria’s!

My daughter, a student at Yale, surprised me with tickets to a Yale hockey game. I am a long time hockey fan and enjoy all levels of play. Four of us attended the Yale / Colgate game on January 13, 2018 and were treated to an enjoyable contest, which Yale won by a score of 5 to 1.
The Ingalls rink seats about 3,500 and has a unique "whale" look to its architecture. We sat on one of the corners behind one of the goals and had a great view of the game action - my guess is that there is not a bad seat anywhere. The student body was still on winter break, so I wondered what the crowd would be like. I was pleased to see the arena was at capacity and electric, with everyone into the game, cheering, and making this a great experience. The crowd was a mix of students, families, and older folks (like me), so it is something for everyone to enjoy. The effort by both teams is not reflected in the final score, since both showed a great energy level throughout the contest. After the 2nd period, we grabbed some hot chocolates at the snack bar and sipped those while we watched the third period, so there is food and drink available. This is Division I hockey and it shows - these players are excellent and provide a great show.
I write this review to provide an alternative, reasonable entertainment possibility for visitors to New Haven. I think the tickets are mostly in the low teens and you have assigned seats; there are standing room only tickets that are even cheaper. For the price, you can't beat the fun and entertainment. I hope to have the chance to see another game soon.

Yeah play Clarkson and Yale won 2 to 1 it was a very close game at the last minute it was tied we had great seats right right behind Glass

One can see why it is rated amongst the best hockey venues in the country...the renovation did it good as it was getting a bit tired

I've been going to Ingalls for years for game and always loved the place. It's a beautiful arena, designed by a famous architect. However my wife and I had an unfortunate interaction with the staff last time. We were not allowed to stand in the hallway leading out (my wife had recently had a back injection and after three periods of sitting on the benches she just needed a break) for the 5 minute overtime. However, some ex players were. The staffer was extremely rude. Tripadvisor will not let me list the details of our interaction, but suffice it to say that we will watch the game online next year.

Great place to see a hockey game. Not a bad seat in the small cozy hockey rink. Easy parking near by and a few restaurants near by if you want to grab a bite before the game. Go Blue!

Não conheciamos nada desse esporte até ir em um jogo do tal famoso esporte nos EUA, é SENSACIONAL, a emoção de ver um estádio dessa categoria, lotado, fora a infraestrutura que é fora do comum, todos devem ir a um jogo num rinque como este um dia.

Easy parking, not a bad seat in the house. Amazing architecture. If you are in or near New Haven I highly recommend a visit. Even if there is no hockey game to see, you will enjoy the fascinating building itself.

Is the ice rink seating area heated?

We visited in January on a very cold day. The rink was very cool and we kept our coats on - still enjoyed the game.
