Since our favorite local theater succumbed to the closure during covid-19, we sought affordable live performances other than Broadway, charging over $200 a ticket plus fees. We found Curtain Call in Stamford, CT.
The theater is on a country club campus. It is affiliated with the Kweskin Theater and the Stillery Restaurant that gives a 10% discount to theater-goers.
We saw "The Wisdom of Eve," the story of an ambitious actor who has learned to be ruthless on her way up. The stage is a four part theater-in the round. The audience is seated in hard metal chairs. We got an email indicating it was all right to bring a sandwich and drink for personal consumption, but local snacks and beverages were available too. Seats were arranged around tables.
Since no hearing devices were available in this bare-bones theater, we had difficulty hearing the actors' dialogue when they turned their backs to us. There were no playbills. Audience members had to text a number to view a digital copy.
While the play was engrossing, and the local cast did a good job, comfort for the audience was sacrificed. Still, at $28 per ticket and $6.00 internet fees, this was a bargain.

Our first time at the theater and it was a great experience. Cast for Into the Woods was excellent given that this is a small local theater. Not a bad seat in the house.

Just saw Something i Rotten. It was wonderful. Ending season with Kinky Boots!!! Dressing Room can be fun, too. So glad theater is in my backyard!

We have been going to Curtain Call for the past three years. Two wonderful theater venues!
We attended the opening of Grease last Thursday evening and it was simply great! Our favorite of the many plays we have seen. The actors, staging, music and energy were simply great!
What a way to kick off the new season. A+!

The setting is a cabaret-style theater with tables right up against the stage. The mood is joyful and the patrons are eating and drinking whatever they brought into the theater. A buzz is in the air as theater-goers await the latest in a series of wonderful performances. The scene begins as the lights dim and everyone has a great time.

My husband and I went to see a recent production with some friends. By coincidence, my parents were sitting in the row ahead of me. I had the double-privilege of enjoying the show myself, but also watching my parents (who are broadway season ticket holders) laughing out loud and having a blast watching the show, too. It is community thetaer in a community that happens to house a lot of highly talented people. Casting here is rigorous and the results show it.

While Broadway is only an hour away, we in Stamford and the rest of Fairfield County, CT, are fortunate to have a local theatre where we can attend live shows year round for very nominal prices, no more than $30.00 and less for seniors and kids.
The venue is small, intimate,and up to date and is located in the Sterling Farms Golf course grounds which is a beautiful park. And speaking of park, there is ample free parking. The cast tends to have local, volunteer talent which to me adds to the enjoyment.

This organization presents musical, dramas, comedies - they are all of Broadway quality and at a very reasonable cost. Volunteers are friendly and casts are extremely talented. This will be an extremely pleasant and worthwhile evening or matinee for people of all ages.

If you're attending a show in the Dressing Room Theatre, we do allow you to bring what you like as seating is cabaret style.
The Kweskin Theatre is a traditional auditorium setting, so food and drink are not permitted.
