Boardwalks out of the sun outing

Loved this adventure!! My daughter and her friend age 15 & 16 loved the boardwalk even though so hot but at least out of the sun. They loved the fish and tiny turtles in the lab. We were disappointed they had no sea turtles which is why we went. Donated $$ for the event was donation only and it was a very outing that didn’t break the bank and everyone happy.

Étrange concept: soigner des tortues et enfermer des poissons dans de petits aquariums

Gros problème avec ce centre. OK, ils sauvent des tortues (quand j'y suis allé les tortues avaient été déplacées chez des partenaires, comme quoi elles ne devaient pas être trop souffrantes) mais se permettent de séquestrer de gros poissons dans 2 minuscules aquarium. C'est juste une honte.
L'accès est gratuit mais j'ai donné en arrivant 20$ pour la cause. Je les regrette.

Super friendly staff, so much to see for just a suggested donation. We loved it! The aquariums were great and it was nice to see the research lab too.

A Go-To Spot For Our Out of Town Guests

We love taking family visiting from out of state to Gumbo Limbo! Shady and clean boardwalk with high side fences that help to keep kids corralled if they run ahead. The boardwalk goes out to the inter coastal waterway where it’s fun to look at boats passing by.
The aquarium has a good variety of fish and there are plenty of volunteers eager to answer any questions we had about the types of fish we saw.
The only drawback currently is that the turtles have been move to other facilities. Not sure when they will return.
Get there right when it opens to get a parking spot during the high season.

Un endroit méconnu à visiter

J'ai vraiment adoré cet endroit. C'est gratuit et intéressant. J'ai adoré voir le barracuda et voir les poissons se faire nourrir. Nous avons aussi fait la balade du jardin et du boardwalk.

Such an impressive place to visit and learn! The staff and volunteers were very approachable and eager to share their knowledge. The exhibits were set up very thoughtfully with the ability for anyone to see what was going on. Well done and thank you!

Nice free nature center, lots of fish to observe

Nice free nature center with many tanks to look at.
When we visited, there were two sea turtles, plus all the fish/stingrays/seahorses in multiple tanks.
We could also see baby turtles being taken care of, very cute.
We visited the butterfly garden and the chiki hut but it was too hot to walk the boardwalk.

Workers are so knowledgeable
I loved it all mostly the turtles,the boardwalk walk was a great experience, A must go see.it is free to go but to help all the animals it would be so appreciated to donate.

There is always something to see, not just turtles!

There is always something new to see, not just turtles! There are recovering turtles with volunteers always available to give additional information. There are also HUGE tanks that contain local sea life - including an adult barracuda, moray eel, sting rays and huge variety of fish. You can also walk on an elevated boardwalk through a mangrove forest which is fully shaded & a butterfly garden. Parking can be an issue, but there is a public lot just south that is connected to the facility by the elevated boardwalk through the mangroves.
