Great Family Experience!

We were a little apprehensive about taking 3 young kids on a fishing trip for 4-5 hours, but Captain Van immediately put our concerns at ease.

He was a good instructor and a pro at keeping young children entertained and engaged and really just made the trip all about them while still getting us on fish in some tough conditions (and rookie mistakes made more by the dad, than kids 😂).

10/10 would recommend, especially for families looking for a fun experience in the outdoors and catching fresh dinner!!!

Thanks Captain Van! We’ll see you soon!!!

Capt Van was very experienced and knowledgeable. He had a very good personality but was serious about us catching fish.

Great time yesterday with Capt Van. He worked really hard for us and had lots of action including several nice keepers.

Plenty of fish

Went with our son and 12 year old grandson. Fast fishing in beginning and end. I caught only 4 or 5. My son a dozen or so. Grandson? Over 3 dozen! He is now going to move to FL and become a fishing boat captian! What great fun! Pricy but worth it to have a great day. Don't forget sunscreen! The first mate, John-Paul was so patient with my grandson! He was top notch!

Great fishing experience

We had a great morning fishing with Capt Van Hubbard. Fishing was a little slow for the first hour but Capt Van got us on the fish we caught one after another. We kept a couple meals of Spanish Mackerel.

Smart, enthusiastic charter captain curates great day for family of four

Capt. Van is a lovely man, a smart angler and great with kids. He scooped us up on short notice and carted our family of four around Lemon Bay for a morning of successful catch-and-release.


Our 10- and 12-year-olds nailed the trout and Van made sure they got to see a couple of pods of dolphins and manatees up close.

We all learned a thing or two from the captain, who seemed grateful and happy we were along for the morning.

He's kind, patient and fun. Highly recommend, particularly to families seeking a morning of fish catching.

Amazing day!

Highly recommend Capt. Hubbard. First time fishing for my 13 year old and I could not have asked for a better experience. Captain is very patient and teaches as you go. We learned a lot, caught over 50 fish between the two of us, and had Spanish Mackerel and Lane Snapper for dinner. Thank you Captain Hubbard and JP for a great morning on the water.

First time fishing trip for kids

My husband, son and two grandsons ( 6 and 8)went on a charter this week and had a great time with Captain Van. They caught a lot of fish and he was great with the boys. They also saw dolphins. We would highly recommend him!

Captain Van was a fantastic guide and even better person! Our kids loved the experience and we all enjoyed Van’s company. Definitely recommend and plan to work with him again! Cheers Van!
