This was a scenic location with a food van and bar that only sells beer and wine or mixed. I enjoyed the frozen beer sangria mix.
The water was not my ideal coming from the Caribbean so opted to eat and drink here and go to Wekiva Springs to swim. I definitely enjoyed this.

To expensive. You first have to pay a park entrance, after that you have to pay an outrageous amount to rent a canoe. $150 to be exact for 3 canoes. It is sad when trying to enjoy nature has become a business that cost you an arm and a leg.

In regards to our vessel rentals, our fee is for the entire day, so you can enjoy as much time on the river as you like for the price. We rented kayaks/canoes to go up river to the springs and loved it. They have a great dock to help people in and out of canoes/kayaks. We had a great time paddling up river and got out at the springs to hang out a bit and then made the trek back. Had a great lunch, very delicious. One of the highlights of our trip.

Dette var et nydelig sted. Noen av oss leide kanoer og padlet blant alligatore og skilpadder i nydelige omgivelser opp til Wekiva Youth camp, de som ikke padlet kjørte bil til Wekiva Youth camp og parkerte der. Ved Wekiva Youth camp ligger en flott badebukt hvor det er bygget en bro som stenger svømmende alligatorer ute fra badeplassen. Flott badeplass. De som kjørte kjørte bil kjørte tilbake til Wekiva imens de som padlet kano padlet tilbake. Her fikk vi kjøpe nydelig mat(masse å velge i) og kald og god drikke både med og uten alkohol og is. De har masse fine strandstoler og godt med bord til bespisning. Her ble vi værende lenge. Det gikk også å bade langs brygga på egent ansvar, men da bader du i alligator land. Vi badet og så ingen alligatorer så nært brygga at det var noen fare. Dette stedet får 10 av 10 fra hele familien. Vi var i alderen 10 til nesten 45år og alle likte seg veldig godt.
(Hvis du vil ha med mat og holde en piknik kan du gjøre det ved Wekiva Youth camp, ved Wekiva Island er det mest naturlig å kjøpe mat på stedet.

We had our company Christmas party and let me tell you! It was absolutely amazing from the food, bar, staff, decorations, games, and just such a cool place hidden in this huge city! I would give the crew at Wekiva Island a 100 out of 10! Such an amazing experience!

Great Location, fair prices, excellent staff, friendly locals, many water activities available, clean and well kept.
Con’s
Overly rude management that kicked me and my family out after having a pleasant 2-3 hours on the property and was told to never come back. Police were called and I still do not know what the problem was that caused such action. The manager and his sidekick also refused to give me their names. Bizarre behavior and complete overkill in my opinion.

There’s a horrible worker there (maybe racist). He singled out our party who had alcohol which was most of our first time visiting. He didn’t give us an opportunity to dispose of the alcohol and immediately kicked us out. He was very loud and disrespectful. Here’s the kicker nobody disputed his findings, but before we could comply with his very loud demands he yelled and said don’t even try to deny it (which we weren’t) “you guys are DONE LEAVE” which the other guest turned and looked. We never said a single word. We packed up and proceeded out. FYI we also purchased alcohol from the bar several times. This place only want your money spent there, but was not providing the same treatment to the other guest who had alcohol right next to us. After we left to the parking lot he then drove his cart around and watched us like we were criminals or something. We were all coworkers and was told about this place. The only good thing I can say was the experience we got on the water was great. The food was delicious as well. The guy was a heavy set white guy, kinda tall. I was truly thinking about recommending this place to my friends and family, but after this I will not.

Hello, we do take these types of reviews very seriously. For this reason, our ownership did take the time to review the video recording of this incident. Upon review, it seemed that your group was trying to hide the fact that you were pouring drinks from small bottles of alcohol. This is the reason our manager came over to chat with you. We have to be watchful of outside alcohol on our property because not only is it illegal for folks to consume outside alcohol, we will lose our licenses if we are caught allowing it. After our manager came over, the video shows somebody chugging a bottle of wine that was brought on property. This appeared to have been done in defiance, and he did get a little upset by this. We apologize that he got upset. We are reviewing our procedures involving guests with outside alcohol so we can ensure the Island is safe and fun for everyone, including involving outside security when necessary. If you feel we are misunderstanding what we are seeing in the video, we would be happy to have a further discussion with you, as again, we do take these situations seriously. Thank you.

Wekiva Island is a pristine wilderness w/wildlife, however you can buy food, rent a kayak. The park has a section for swimming & tubing, you also have a section where you can canoe & kayak. The Wekiva River w/Rock Springs Run & Black Water Creek are designated as National Scenic River system. You can spot birds, wildlife from the river while going down through the swamp and hammocks. You can start 8.5 miles upstream @ King's Landing, or here @ Wekiva Island. From here its 27 miles to the St. John's.

We held a family reunion at Wekiva Island on 10/3. We rented a cabana, specifically the Sandbana, and had an amazing experience. It was the perfect atmosphere, a great cabana set up and we received attentive service from the bar throughout the entire day. Although the cabana came with a grill, we decided to not stress over cooking and enjoyed some delicious food from the food truck instead. I personally love and frequent Wekiva Island often but many of my family members were first time visitors who were very impressed and plan to return to this little piece of paradise. It was the perfect day of fun, sun, swimming, nature and we even got my 86 year old aunt to canoe! Thank you Wekiva Island!

Yes you can bring your own food into Wekiva Island. There is also a food truck with a pretty good variety. They have grills in the Cabanas. You just cannot bring in your own alcoholic beverages.

not quite,but with help...no problem.Parking is like sandbeach terrain(harder)and some areas with grass...others are wooden boardwalk and main rotonda cement.

I am sorry I jsut checked my account. It is best to go real earlyw hen they open and rent a kayak/canoe and go up the river tot he spring. great place been back several times

Yes, you can swim there but keep in mind this is Florida and there are alligators in most water here. Many people use a raft, canoe, kayak, etc. The area close to the dock is best for swimming because of all the acitivity but I personally would not swim far from the main dock, again this is just my opinion.
