Nel museo si può accedere gratuitamente previa prenotazione, anche se poi con il cellulare abbiamo fatto tutto in tempo reale.
Il complesso è su tre piani e comprende opere di autori contemporanei.
Molto interessante la struttura come anche quella del palazzo di fronte (che ospita il garage) anch'essa opera d'arte su tutte le facciate con pattern di inclusioni e contrafforti fumettistici.
Una esperienza interessante forse non troppo coinvolgente.

I don't usually like modern art, but, did enjoy the collection on exhibit here when I came in June. The pieces were varied- very colorful, emotional or otherwise engaging. It was easy to obtain tickets online and the museum was not crowded. An enjoyable afternoon activity for a hot day.

I loved all the exhibits at the Institute of Contemporary Art on 41st Street starting with the parking ramp across the street. It's incredible!
The variety of art on exhibit was very impressive in it's variety, and depth and it's ability to draw me in. There was some of the most exciting abstract painting I've ever seen, very inventive and expressive sculpture, and a retrospective on an amazing feminist artist, and more.
And it's free! I'm very grateful that I got to visit it.

We very much enjoyed our visit to this museum. The exhibits are rotating but based on our visit, the selection of artists to display is top notch. The museum had relatively few visitors which enhanced our visit.

This institute looks good but the tour is short, the good thing is that is free, we arrived without tickets and we got to wait like 30 minutes to get in, i don't know if it's because of the covid they are not letting a lot of people in but when we got inside the place was kind of empty.
It's 3 levels the first one i didn't like it, the 3rd floor is the best and the wall of colors :)
Maybe next time the exhibition will be better.
If you have free time , then visit, right in front of the street there's a wall of cars, it's amazing!

El Instituto está lindo, pero por motivos de la pandemia tienen muy pocas cosas en exhibición. Si quieren irlo a visitar les recomiendo hacer su cita por internet xq por el momento solo la entrada es con cita. También está muy rápido de recorrer.

When we arrived on a weekday afternoon, the place looked empty. We were asked for an online booking. We tried to book on our phone and the app kept giving error messages. After 15 mins, some one came outside and tried to book it for us. He too did not succeed but he let us inn. The place was totally empty, not a single visitor. Yet, the app kept saying Full and the guard would not let us in. I asked the two guys about this and they just shrugged it off saying check with Salesforce in CA who have developed the app! Excuse me!!! They could not be bothered. It is almost they do not want visitors to come and visit. In any case, the exhibits were no standouts. You will be done in less than 10 mins. Instead head to the De La Cruz Collection which will welcome you more warmly.

I purchased two tickets to see my niece perform with Jerome Bel a well-known French choreographer. I purchased my tickets online February 16th to attend the Saturday Feb 29 1:00pm performance only to be denied entry by the museum! Why? I arrived 20 minutes late due to issues beyond my control and the performance had started. I understood that I could not enter during the performance pieces but the attendant at the museum entrance then stated “ no we have
A strict policy of not allowing anyone in after the performance starts not even between pieces.” Then she stated “ also we had a problem with standing room only so we can’t allow you to go up!” I asked her soooo no one can come out not even to use the bathroom?” And she stated “ no not unless there is a fire !”
Now there are so many issues with this- first they over sold this performance and therefore created a situation where people with tickets could not even attend. There should have been two “empty” seats because I purchased two seats! No where on the ticket does it state that the ticket holder will not be allowed entry if they are late for any reason. On the ticket it states first come first served ; so purchasing a ticket does not secure you a space! This is their fundraising strategy. It is wrong to over book a performance and then not allow someone with a ticket entry.
The cost of the tickets were not the issue- I was refused the opportunity to see my niece perform. I cannot get that back. The arts are not funded as they should be so I guess now they have resorted to overbooking and then keeping your money to fund more performances that they overbook - this is their fundraising strategy!

Free to the public. $3 parking fee. Not quite on the same level as PAMM. Takes about an hour to see three stories of exhibits and gardens.

I assume this review is conditional - depending on what's showing you may enjoy this much more. Unbfortunately when I came the artists showing were mostly the worst sort of contemporary: "here is my concept of cultural pain, as told through used building supplies and paper products" "This empty plastic bottle signifies the ecnomic and environmental degredation to which we are all forced to submit by" … whom exactly. And really, haven't we seen the colored neon tubes before? Galleries are still displaying this? Might have been the day, might have been the indifferent staff, might have been the scowling security who float through looking both bored and vaguely hostile.... However, all of this is FREE, the building itself is worth seeing (from an interior perspective it really is good ), you're next door to the de la Cruz which is much better and landed in the design district which itself is worth a wander - so it's all good in the end.
