A great little museum with enough to engage a 4&7 year old -and it's free entry! Well worth as visit. Interestingly local tales to read about.

Erewash Museum is really lovely. Free entry and a small garden area to play in. It's an old house (so small enough you can easily keep track of the kids) but packed full of interesting exhibits. Lots of things that children are allowed to touch and play with too. They often have craft or themed events in the holidays and the staff are so nice and helpful.
There's a large car park at the leisure centre just down the street as no parking at the museum.

Fabulous small but free to enter musuem, each time I visit I seem to learn something new and interesting about the local area, this time it was the Sword of Kirk Hallam.

Staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Lots to do for the family during the school holidays, we've been every week without fail. Cafe food is yummy and reasonable price too

I am originally from Ilkeston and thought that I knew plenty about the history of the town and area however the section dedicated to Stanton was a revelation. Who knew the extent of the specialised iron and steel produced here included the Mersey Tunnel

A little gem, always got something going on, lots of educational stuff going on throughout the year. Located in a lovely building. Lots of activity's planned for school holidays either free or very cheap.

There is always something happening at this little museum. In the school holidays they have very family focused activities, often free or very cheap. A great resource and fabulous team

We love it here, they have great free events on all year such as the beach and brick week, and it's a lovely oasis in the centre of town with a fab walled garden ideal for picnics. Thanks to all the volunteers that give their time for us all 😊

We feel so lucky to have this on our doorstep. Every school holiday and very often at weekends we will come to one of their themed events. As a teacher, I would recommend this as a place to visit. The coffee shop is so cheap and is lovely, the staff that work in there are really accommodating. There are not many places that you could take your children and potentially not spend a single penny but this is one of them. I always ensure I donate a little when leaving as we can not lose this amazing little showcase of our local history.
