This was great. I was picked up by the guide. His name was John and he was great. We fished 4 4 different spots. I caught about 30 bass. Largest was around 4 pounds. The rest were all over a pound. The action was pretty continuous. John handled everything and was fast to react and met the fish. A great time.

This is an incredible experience that I highly recommend for anyone who is looking for something a little different to do at Walt Disney World. We did a morning four-hour guided fishing excursion from Bayside Marina at Disney's Yacht Club. This meant we were fishing in Crescent Lake, the Epcot World Showcase lagoon and near Hollywood Studios. We were on a pontoon boat, so we used both live and artificial bait. We caught fish on almost continuously with both types of bait, so it was a lot of fun. The largest fish were 4 - 6 pound largemouth bass and we had several in this range. Our guide was James, who was excellent. He is very knowledgeable about fishing, but with the right 'guide' attitude to meet everyone wherever they are in their fishing journey -- from never-fished-before to old-hand. He did a fantastic job in making sure the fish were released in a healthy state. Also, he was great at interacting with visitors on shore to help them see the fun in fishing. I highly recommend this activity.

My husband, 11 year old son and brother recently went on a WDW Fishing Excursion out of Caribbean Beach Resort. It was a surprise for our son and the guide, Ed from Winter Garden FL, was AMAZING!! He was very kind, patient, laid back, easy going and an all around great guy. It was evident he enjoys his job and everyone caught bass and had a WONDERFUL time. Would highly recommend for families and individuals to do while visiting WDW or Orlando in general.

My son and I had a blast on our outing. My son is new to fishing and our guide, JT, was extremely helpful and fun. He got my kiddo out of his shell, gave him some pointers and got him some big bass. Really went above and beyond. We will definitely take several more trips with Disney fishing - definitely worth it to get off the bank for a bit!

This was our 7th time going over the past decade. Fishing was a little slow until my son caught the pictured trophy. 12.5lbs. Tim the guide was laid back and great.
The only con was how long it took to get connected to a disney rep when making the reservation. 2+ hrs.

What a great day with Capt. Tim. Departed the Yacht club at 10 am. Caught well of 20 fish during the 2 hour trip. So much fun!

My family of 5 went on a morning excursion and had a fabulous time! We did a 2 hour trip, and caught about 20 fish total, the majority of which were good sized! Our tour guide was great, and took the time to show my 9 year old how to properly hold her rod and how to present a fish, and gave my 15 year old (an experienced angler) some new tips.
The only trouble we ran into was which dock we were leaving from...we specifically asked to leave from the Contemporary but our Disney app said to meet at the campground docks -- we assumed all the reservations at the Contemporary were booked, so went on to the campground location -- but apparently, they ALL say to meet at the campground because that's where the main hub is. So we ended up being at the wrong location, but our tour guide just drove over there and picked us up, no big deal :)

We did this as a family for my husband's birthday. Our guide was fantastic! He knew some great spots, and we caught a LOT of fish in 2 hours. We took the 7AM trip to beat the heat and the weather (Sept 29th) was perfect. The guide had everything we needed-- rods, live bait, water and soft drinks. Take a hat and sunscreen, especially if you are on the afternoon trip.

Wife and daughter (10yrs) thought they come for the boat ride but ended up fishing.
Key points:
Took a 2 hour time slot at 7am to avoid the sun. It was a good idea.
Fishing from a pontoon boat is awesome.
Fishing in 5 mins from arriving to the marina.
Exclusively using shiners (minnows) as bait.
Caught 20+ fish in two hours. avg fish 1.5 lbs, 3 fish was 2.5 lbs.
Kids had a great time. so different from the rush of the parks.
Super key when booking ( i hope ur reading Disney).
The person helping at the time I booked suggested that I take the Fort Wilderness Marina given the proximity of the Disney hotel that I'll be staying at.
Bad suggestion. To get to this marina, you'll need to drive there and tell the parking attendant why you need to enter the property, of which she will have no idea that Disney offered fishing excursions. Then park, then figure out how to get to the Marina as its over a mile from the parking lot. Disney offers internal buses but by the time I figured out all this I ended up late.

Being from the mountains of West Virginia I have always wanted a chance to fish for largemouth bass in Florida. I was able to do so this past November. I opted for the four hour Nitro bass boat excursion on Bay Lake behind The Contemporary. The guide was great and had a very good selection of rods, reels and lures. He did a great job of keeping the boat positioned and my rods rigged and ready to go. I used artificial baits for all of my fish. They do offer fishing with shiners.
I was pretty worried about getting skunked but the weather was perfect and in 10 minutes or so I had fish on. My guide was very knowledgeable about not only bass fishing at Disney but also about the history of Bay Lake. The guide counted me catching 13 but I counted 12 so I'll stick with 12 bass caught. We saw several other people fishing in the pontoon boats and saw them catching bass too.
I would definitely recommend the guided fishing trips at Disney. I caught some nice bass and really enjoyed myself. What better way to enjoy your visit than in the shadow of the Magic Kingdom?!

I see the bass excursions leave from multiple resorts. Do they all fish at their own resort or do the go to seven seas lagoon? We are staying at Coronado Springs. Looking to book a fishing trip on Seen Seas Lagoon. I’d love advice. Thank you.

Not sure if they do, we basically booked our trip based on best reviews. We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter and had to take a taxi there since no buses ran there from our place and when we were finished we took a boat to Epcot and caught a bus back to the resort. These are great people to fish with.

For the fishing excursions they mostly say you will catch 2 to 8 pound largemouth bass. If you fish in the canals and rent equipment you can catch catfish and panfish as well. However, It is all catch and release.

Yes. We live in Orlando and book fishing only trips. You will have to pay to park, but you don't have to be staying at a Disney hotel. Look up disney fishing excursions on google for info and reservations. It's the wdwinfo website. I can't post a url to a comment in trip advisor. Ask for Brian as your guide. He's the best! Enjoy!
