Giant Redfish!

Went out for a 7 hour trip with Capt. X and the rumor is true; he will put you on big fish! Giant redfish for all three of us fishing. Cool guy and a pleasure to spend time with on the water with. Will definitely be booking a trip to catch some giant black drum in the future!

Great half day with some trophy catches!

My son was looking forward to trying to catch some larger fish, and Captain Xavier did not disappoint!! We caught a few 30-40 pounders which was quite unexpected! Captain Xavier demonstrated a lot of knowledge about the local area and conditions, and what to target based on that, which proved valuable to having a successful outing

If You Enjoy Fishing, Captain Xavier/Close Encounters Charters Is A MUST

I recently fished with Captain Xavier for the second time and had a terrific experience. He seemingly knows every square inch of the Indian River lagoons and where and how to fish them. Last year, on a four hour trip, we pounded the structure around the Max Brewer Bridge in search of the black drum bite. While things were slow, Captain X worked hard to find action and we landed one. The experience was so good that this time I opted for a 9-hour trip. Captain X found live bait outside the channel which opened up options to fish for trout. After that he worked the channel for red fish and black drum. He put me on 10! monster red fish, a black drum and even a mangrove snapper. The bite was unusually hot and Captain X worked it. Afterward he took the time to filet my drum in the dark on the back gate to his pickup with an LED headlamp. I have never encountered a fish captain in Florida with the knowledge, work ethic and dedication to making sure his clients have a positive fishing experience. I can’t highly recommend Captain X enough. If you’re ever in the Orlando area and wanting to get a little fishing in, look him up and make the hour drive. It’s more than worth it.

Awesome Space Coast Fishing Adventure!

My brother in law and I went fishing with Captain X mid-February. We fished with bait for black and red drum fish. My brother in law caught a medium black drum fish and then the fish stopped biting. Captain X moved to various spots that he knew to try to get us on more fish to catch. Due to the Captain’s persistence, we ended up catching two nice black drums and then immediate after, I ended catching a HUGE 50-inch red drum up that fought 10 mins before I was able to bring him to the boat. Captain X gave me clear instructions on what to do to not lose him and I was able to bring the fish in. Captain X then moved us to another spot since the commotion of the 3 fish being caught had caused the other large fish to leave the area. We caught 3 more fish in that spot, including the 48-inch red drum that my brother in law landed after fighting with his fish for 8 minutes. We released all the fish we caught after taking some great photos!

Throughout our fishing adventure, we saw manatees, dolphins, and we saw a small shark jump out of the water. Captain X is knowledgeable about the Florida wildlife and you can tell he love what he does. He had us listen for the vibrating/drum sound that is made by the black drum fish. Overall a great trip and Captain Xavier was awesome! His persistence and patience allowed us both to snag 2 huge red drum fish before the end of the fishing trip. We will definitely do this fishing adventure again when we come back down to Florida.

Monster Drum

Boated the biggest black drum of my life! Within minutes of spotting the school of black drum I had my pole bent half way over with a monster on the end of the line. Also if you are looking for comfort, the boat rides so smooth and hits speeds over 50mph to be able to cover as much water needed to catch the big ones. Awesome and honest guy, I highly recommend a charter with Captain Xavier. You will not regret it.

My wife and I had a super good time on the water with Xavier for a full day. He came through in every way a captain can and we caught a variety of fish all day. He even hooked us up late at night with a nice group of black drum. If you want a good time in a comfortable boat, with a guy who knows how to catch fish, Xavier is your guy.

My son and I had an amazing time out there. Caught several massive black Drum in a quick morning outing along with a few sea trout. Great time on the water. Will definitely book another trip with Capt Xavier

Xavier is an excellent captain.

I was referred to Xavier from a very well respected captain when I had a last minute chance to fish the next day. Xavier happened to be available, and boy did he not disappoint.

Great boat, great equipment, and he’s an excellent captain. He knew the patterns of the fish we were after and it was obvious he had experience and the diligence to put us on them.

There were 4 of us and he worked very hard to make sure everybody had a chance to get on some fish. We ended the day with 8 fish, each of us caught 2. I know it doesn’t always work out that way, but when the chance presented itself, Xavier worked hard to make it happen.

Highly recommend and will fish with Xavier again. You should too.
