The beach was convenient to our hotel so we went with friends. The sand is soft and a very short walk to the water but I wouldn’t go in because of the color and seaweed.
We sat at a picnic table and had our lunch. Not many people were there.
Boca grande beach is the best!

It's small, out of the way and a bit hard to find especially now 6 months after Hurrican e Ian with so many street and road signs missing still. There is a small strip of beach area easy to reach from parking. Restroom open and clean. The pool has a sign up that it is closed still from hurricane Ian, but was filled, clean and looked ready to use, so...

Very nasty colored water and lots of seaweed. Would never go in that crap so decided to try the pool but it was closed. On a holiday weekend the pool was closed!!! Crap place and will never go back.

awesome place to relax during the week and for a beach visit. very clean place and lots of parking. city must be recommended for a great place for people and their families.

This harbor beach is only 10 minutes from our house.
We enjoy stopping at the nearby Subway and enjoying a sub in the sun for an hour or two. Restrooms are easily accessible. It is not the ocean but so close to our house.

I was raised there. It's a crap hole that you people keep trying to make tourist attraction and it is not. Brackish water, Horrible Infrastructure and all around a disappointment was forced to be there until 18 and am so glad that I no longer live there, Blah a million times, send that to the BBB in PG. Pay for Parking, please. Is the tax base so low that the seniors who live there have to pay to fish in those polluted and nasty waters? have the Manatees left yet? All of you politicians who run Charlotte County should be prosecuted for the sins you have allowed to take place in that area, Karma,

Went went treasure hunting with my metal detector, haven't been treasure hunting with my metal detector in about five years. Had some pretty cool finds, one shocking though, found some bullet casings from a 9 millimeter at the end of the beach. Looks like someone was having some fun with the gun. All-in-all not too bad of a find. I did find a 1956 nickel and a bunch of pennies nothing to jump up and down about still had fun love this place. It is a safe beach - small and brackish water... but safe, besides someone shooting a gun from time to time.

I don't think there is a beach. I think Casperson Beach in Venice/Englewood is dog friendly.

Yes, its a river and a harbour . The peace river runs into Charlotte harbour( salt water) ...... I have never seen gators and I have talked to many locals and they have told me the have never seen gators.

I called the beach staff this morning and was assured we could get there, but we tried to get to the park today but Edgewater was completely blocked off. We went through many "road closed" signs but eventually could go no further. Am wondering how recent visitors got there.

Until Dec 21, 2015, you will need to use Tamiami Trail (Hwy 41) to Edgewater Dr. You can then turn west on Harbor to the park. After the 21st of Dec, Harbor will be open to Edgewater, so you can take Harbor from Tamiami to the Beach Park.
