Stumbled into this park after checking out the nearby library. Cute gift shop in one of the building that I got some earrings at. There was a cache of decorated rocks that were just distributed so there were others wondering around seeking them out. There is a small comminity garden next to it. Nice little place. Not somewhere to plan a day visit around.

Visited the market held in this park last Sunday. The market was relaxed and easy going. No traffic or hustle and bustle to distract from great vendors, live music, and lots of shade to get out of the sun.

If you have some extra time (15-30 minutes) and are in the area, you can stop by here. Unfortunately, all the buildings were closed when we went, but we walked around and saw a beautiful orchid and other beautiful flowers. they do a nice job with the flowers/landscaping.

This is a very interesting place to visit, you can take a nice bike ride or just walk around. There are building that you can look at and see how the town use to look like in the past.

Stopped by when visiting the nearby library. Very nice landscaping. it is good for a short walk or visit if nearby. Have been here on the weekend (not sure what day) and they had an outdoor set up with stands for crafts and fresh fruits, veggies, etc..Very well kept.

This was a nice stop along the bike trail, to see all the gardens folks have started & added their own special touches & decorations.

Nice shaded place to visit for 45 minutes or so. Contains about 5 historic buildings - dating to the early days of Punta Gorda. There are signs; yet the best way is to scan the QR codes and read about what you download. There are well maintained gardens and shaded walkways. There's usually only one person there - and so the buildings are usually closed. Good for a 45-minute diversion.

This is an absolutely charming little park that stresses the history of Punta Gorda. It contains several cottages and gardens from Punta Gorda’s past. It is a quiet place to relax and take in the warm Florida sunshine. There is also a community garden. On Sunday’s the site is host to a very nice little Farmer’s Market. This is one of the many little places which make PG unique!

The History Park has a farmers market every Sunday. Plus it has historically significant buildings from Punta Gorda all relocated next to each other so that you can go inside and see them. It's a wonderful way to learn about the history of this great community!

Even though we live in Punta Gorda we go to the History Park all the time. We love the market on Sunday and take all our company there to wow them. The new look at the park is beautiful. The vendors are friendly and volunteers from the park are walking around to be of service. It's so "Punta Gorda". It's a great place any day.

We are in the process of relocating here and don't have an answer for you as we are early in the process. I would contact the Peace River Wildlife Center as they are heavily involved with wildlife conservation including foster care of injured/abandoned wildlife.

Hi, are planning on staying in Punta Gorda? If so there are some nice hotels off of South 41 on the harbor. I don't know your price point, I stay at the Punta Gorda Waterfront Hotel. It's not the grandest but it's easy to get to right off s 41 is about $90 a night. I've stayed here 5 different times over the last 4 yrs father in law lives in Punta Gorda. Most hotels are off 41 only a few are off 75. If you got more questions please ask. Have a good day!

No, there is no cost for admission. We've only been there on Sundays for the Farmers' Market so I'm not sure about the hours on other days. I just checked the web site and no hours are listed, I'm afraid.
One other place to check out in Punta Gorda is the Blanchard House Museum (black history).

If you want the tour, it is only done on Sunday at 2 p.m., or at least that was the situation when we went. Starr at the gift shop is a good one to ask. We were asked to give a $5 donation.
