Lake Rogers park is the perfect spot for meditating on the beauty of God's creation, fishing, or simply hiking with your family. As an added bonus, Hillsborough County Conservation Parks count for a Discovery Pass through the Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative, so if you have a library card with HCPLC, you can reserve a free parking pass online in advance. Either way, though, Lake Rogers Park is definitely budget-friendly (it only costs $2).

We went this morning. Great walk, parking $2.00, well worth it the trail we were on around the lake was about 3 and 1/2 miles. Lots of benches to sit on. Will return a lot when it cools down. Have fun.

This park is a bit off the beaten path, outside of Odessa, but also fairly easy to get to and plenty of parking. The cost is $2 for the day and it's a really nice place to walk dogs, take a quiet walk yourself, or have a picnic. There's a nice, wide trail around the lake, about 2.3 miles and takes about an hour or so to walk it. There are some picnic tables and benches along the trail, and also a few boat/kayak launches. It can be a bit secluded on weekdays, but is usually fairly busy on nice weekends, though you don't see many people out on the trail.
The one thing to watch for is snakes. We came across a large rattlesnake on a sidetrail one day. He was stretched out across the trail, hard to see mixed in among the leaves, but fortunately he rattled his tail before we got too close. I always watch the path now for any snakes, though he's the only rattlesnake I've seen. If you have dogs, be careful not to let them roam too far ahead and watch for snakes. Otherwise it's a really nice, quiet walk around a pretty lake.

I would have given the park a higher rating except that the paths are POORLY marked. Never would I have thought that I could get lost in a small park. However, there were constant forks in the paths, and no directions. This would be so easy to remedy: Create an overall trail map with colors indicating each path. At each fork, indicate which trail (by color) is going in each direction. As is, there are no definitive directions.

So I went to lake Rogers last weekend, hadn't been there for about three years. I'm happy to tell you it's still a well kept park that has fresh water fountains and a beautiful lake full of bass and pumkinseeds and brim. Easy to launch a canoe or kayak and costs just 3 bucks!

We have not been here in a few months so we were surprised at the lack of care at the park. Trail is barely fine, and the lake access is almost non-existent. It would not be a beautiful boat ride around the lake at this time. We would not take any of our grandkids here at this time.

This is not in St. Petersburg, but is provided and maintained by the City of St. Pete. There is a two mile trail that circles the lake. It appears to be a popular trail that is well maintained and marked. Dogs are allowed on leash. There are more scenic trails with more abundant wildlife around the area that I prefer, but to take a stroll it's not a bad choice.

Just returned from a early morning walk around Lake Rogers, a Hillsborough County Park, There is a $2 per vehicle entrance fee at the parking lot. The trail is quite wide. Most of the trial is thru woods, some in open fields. Lake views at different parts of the trail. There are also picnic tables along the trail at different intervals. Water station near the entrance along with portable toilets.

Good to have areas like this in South Mobley you can get out on the trails, or just make the loop. Its easy to pay the $2. courtesy fee. You will get a bonus of birds and wild life.

Just wanted to respond to the previous review claiming that the park is no longer there. I think the previous poster may have been on South Mobley (where there is, in fact, a new housing development) rather than on North Mobley (where Lake Rogers is still located and as peaceful as ever.)
It is a lovely loop to walk or jog. We also enjoy riding our mountain bikes there and there is lake access if you have your own kayak or canoe, though it is a hike from the parking lot to the lake so a cart would be necessary.
