My girlfriend and I love glass art, when we saw there was a permanent Chihuly collection at Morean Art, it was the 1st thing on our TO DO list in St Pete! Amazing collection, and ticket included glass blowing demo afterward. Loved the gift shop and supporting local artists!

A really great museum of glass art. We have visited Chihuly exhibits all over the USA and this is among the top collections.

The picture that is shown is from the Chihuly exhibit across the street at 720 Central, not the art center at 719 central. It was OK, I am just not much into abstract art. I have a three YO who could throw paint on a canvas and call it art. Can I get severl hundred dollars for it?

That Morean Arts Center photo was taken at the Chihuly Collection (720 Central Ave), one of our 4 locations which also include the Morean Arts Center (719 Central Ave), the Morean Glass Studio (714 Central Ave), and the Morean Center for Clay (420 22nd St S).
We are glad that you gave us a visit!

NEW RETRO show -We enjoyed the new artist's and the different mediums they used. We enjoyed the opening reception and meeting the artists with their work. We especially enjoyed Susan Peloubet's work with the yarn. Check it out, show goes until 17 March 2022!

When you visit here, be sure to see the glass blowing demonstration. It is amazing. You watch that small blob of melted glass turn into a work of art. It's free too.

The glass blowing demonstrations are such a great way to soak up the transformational expression of glass art! So glad that you got so watch the blob of melted glass turn into a masterpiece!

We could have spent money at the museum across the street, but IMHO one Chihuly is as good as the next, because he doesn't seem to push the artistic envelope. The Morean, on the other hand, is free, and goes easy on the glass. Especially, the gallery's managers have a knack for hanging a nice variety of competent artists, while staging everything quite well. They know what they're doing.

What a wonderful exhibit of Chihuly's work. There is also a film, where he describes his concepts and you can watch his blowers at work. We try to see his work wherever we are and this collection did not disappoint.

They have live glass blowing demonstration . The glass work in the main gallery is so beautiful and colorful. The pieces there can be bought and taken home the same day.

When you buy a ticket for the Morean Art Center Complex it is good for 1) The Chihuly Collection - that focuses on the art by Dale Chihuly (including a 15 minute video of his art 2) Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop - a glass blowing demonstration (closed Monday & Tuesday) 3) viewing the art in the Morean Art Center which is by various artists that are mostly available for sale (free to enter) and the Morean Center for Clay which has art made from clay by various artists (free to enter). We spent over 3 hours visiting all of the locations. Very interesting and informative day - plus I bought lovely glass shell as a remembrance.

They had a lot of beautiful pieces for sale that were reasonably priced but we ended up walking back to The Chihuly Collection to buy a piece we had seen there that 'caught our eye'
