Hi Luke, We do not have day programs for kids under 6 years of age. However, we do offer private classes for families that have kids of varying ages. Hello there, The age range for our day programs is 6-13 years old, but we are sometimes able to make exceptions depending on the topic and the age distribution of the day's group. We can also arrange private programs for children younger than six years old. Hello, Thank you for your interest in Sanibel Sea School. We do have a full lineup of classes for children ages 6-13 this winter. We offer half day classes at our flagship campus on Sanibel, Monday through Friday, that are 9:00 - 12:00 or 1:00 - 4:00. Your kids can also stay for a full day and order a lunch from us, if they'd like. Our course calendars become available on our website about a month in advance - our December calendar is currently available and our January calendar will be posted by December 1st. You are able to view our schedule and register your kids on our website. Hi! Thank you for your interest in our programs! Our marine science instructors are trained to deliver a safe, fun, and educational ocean experience to kids ages 6-13 and are all certified in first aid/CPR and lifeguarding. If your child is comfortable with the idea, we encourage you to put your trust in us and leave them to enjoy a fabulous ocean experience with their peers. However, we understand that some kids are truly nervous (or do not speak English fluently) and would feel better if a parent tagged along. Parents are welcome to shadow our classes, but we ask that they allow their children to participate and engage in the program uninterrupted. We kindly ask that you minimize participation in the classroom lessons and field activities, and hold all questions until the end of class. This policy is to ensure that every child in the class has the best possible experience and does not feel inhibited from participating in any way. If you would like an ocean experience for your whole family, we also offer family privates that can accommodate all ages. Our family privates are 2-hour sessions with one of our marine science educators, where the topic of the session is catered to your interests. Hi, Jo. During your visit in August we will be offering both half-day programs and summer camp. It sounds like your girls fit within the age range for both. Our half-day programs are field-based, academic courses and we offer an array of topics on local creatures and habitats. For example, sometimes we go seining in the seagrass to find fish, snorkeling on the sandbar in search of sand dollars, or set crab traps and take a closer look at what we catch. In these courses, we always get wet and learn a lot (and of course have fun!). The August calendar will be available by June 31st, and you can register online in advance. If you have additional questions, visit our website or email us using the address on our site (Tripadvisor won't allow me to include it here). Summer camp runs Monday-Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and August 17-21 is Seahorse Week. In camp, we still spend a ton of time exploring outside and learning about the topic of the week, but in the summer camp spirit, it involves more games, art, surfing, fun with friends, etc. than our half day programs.
