So I have been here a few times throughout the years and have always had a wonderful time except for my most recent visit. I had my entire family threatened in the venue by the table behind us and when I got security involved, they kicked both parties out despite the fact the guy was saying he "was going to kill me and my family " and "couldn't wait to see me in the parking lot". Once outside security did absolutely nothing but block me and my girlfriend from getting to our car. When trying to walk out of the parking lot, the man approached my mother and shoved my mother on the ground before tackling me to the ground with security no where to be seen. It really sucks because I really enjoyed this place but will unfortunately never return due to the total negligence of the team. If you care for your families safety DO NO TBRING THEM HERE.

Great little club. Very funny show with a great line up. The service was great and food not bad. Definitely worth the money for a great night out!

The show was pretty good. Four comedians and then the owner did his thing. Apparently HBO was filming for a special, will keep my eyes out for that.

Fantastic lineup last night. We laughed our heads off. What a perfect way to spend your weekend. This place is such fun. You just have to go and sit back, relax, eat and drink and be ready to laugh.

This comedy club makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in until you leave. John and Shane, the bartenders in the Green Room, were so very nice with fast, excellent service. The woman who greets you and takes you to your table was so polite and her smile makes you feel right at home! Paige, my server, was the most excellent service I’ve received in SRQ. In a room that is opened then flooded with a hundred people at once, she was attentive to everyone’s needs. Big parties were accommodated with food and drinks so quickly and solo tables like myself were not overlooked at all. She checked on me constantly with a lovely smile and attitude while running circles around this massive crowd. It was above and beyond excellent service and I must commend her. As for the show, the line-up was so very hilarious. I laughed, I cried, I gasped for air. The comics and the emcees were just exceptional! Then we were directed back to the Green Room bar for Open Mic night. This comedy theatre just has it all. It’s extremely clean, with comedic history lining the walls that just makes you feel you’re somewhere very special. I’m so glad to have found this treasure downtown.

Great comedy club! This was our first visit and we saw Yakov Smirnoff. He was so funny, smart and inspirational! We laughed so much! His gratitude and clean humor was so refreshing! Thank you!!! We will come again!

We enjoyed it - you have to hand 2 drinks each (or food) and drinks at bar before show don’t count. No biggie but wanted to mention that. Atmosphere is night comedy club for sure. Two shows a night and three separate gigs (2 warm up acts). Food ok not great.

Great food and drinks and in past visits I’ve had luck with comedians, but unfortunately in my most recent visit the comedian went past toeing the line on some topical subjects and is created a very split/charged atmosphere which had audience members booing each other.
Overall I’d say it can be hit or miss, and if it’s miss it can come across at best as a neutral and at worst as offensive for the sake of being offensive.

We love McCurdy's Comedy Theatre! It's always a treat we look forward to. My wife and I have gone to comedy clubs in Tampa and other locations, and McCurdy's is the most fun. Les McCurdy and the entire crew are great. They book the best comedians and offer a fun evening.
We go to McCurdy's at least every two weeks.

While Drag Show Bingo might not be for everyone my friends and I had fun. I was concerned that it would be uncomfortably crass or obscene but it was all in good fun and well received by the full house. I think the combo of Pride Month and the resumption of post COVID live performances added to the laughs.
The ladies may have been around the block but they were sincere and funny.
