Beaches in Dziwnów
Dziwnów in Poland offers tourists access to two main beaches: the Main-Central Beach and the West Beach. I am a frequent visitor to Dziwnów, mainly because of the attractiveness of Dziwnów itself and everything it offers, but also because there are fewer tourists in this town compared to other resorts of this type. The West Beach has earned my highest praise. In my opinion, Dziwnów offers some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen in my life.
Main-Central Beach
The Main-Central Beach is located in the heart of Dziwnów. It is a clean and sandy beach, partially guarded during the peak season. It is separated from the town by a wide belt of dunes, behind which there is a walking promenade. This place is ideal for relaxing on benches, admiring sunsets, as well as for leisurely bike rides along the sea. Children can enjoy water slides and inflatable castles, and in the summer various forms of sports activities are available for all age groups. In 2013, Dziwnów received the "Blue Flag" certificate, which attests to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
Western Beach
The Western Beach, located on the western side of the town near the mouth of the Dziwna River into the Baltic Sea, is much less crowded, making it an ideal spot for those seeking tranquillity. This beach does not have a permanent lifeguard service, so those who value the presence of lifeguards should choose the Main-Central Beach. This beach also offers the opportunity to seek shelter in the nearby forest on hot days, and from late summer to autumn, you can collect mushrooms here. From the Western Beach, you can admire incoming and outgoing ships and participate in watching sailing regattas. At the western end of the beach, near the river mouth, there are two breakwaters built at the end of the 19th century. Today, they are popular among local anglers, especially during the phenomenon known as "backflow," when it is possible to catch fish typical of this region.
Sailing in Dziwnów
Dziwnów, known as a paradise for sailors, has a well-developed sailing infrastructure with a marina and harbours along Kamiński Lagoon. The town is renowned for organizing international sailing regattas and enjoys recognition on the international stage. Situated on the West Pomeranian Sailing Route, Dziwnów offers excellent conditions for sailing both on the open sea and on the inland waters of Wrzosowska Bay.
Both beaches are popular among tourists and offer a variety of attractions and easy access to the sea.
