I have been going there for over 30 years was amazed when I just went there they changed there programs to save money so now you can't handicap off them you have to by racing for for ten dollars.(they should be ashamed) who ever approved it should be fored

Most enjoyable day watching and wagering on the horses. Our group had the party room with private buffet, bar and betting window. Enclosed but easy access to the outside. Food good and service excellent

Nice track that only cost 3 dollars to get in. It was cash only for entrance. Make sure to heck their website to see when the live racing is. On live racing days they do around 9 races with one around every 45 minutes.

Watching the horses. A very nice ambience. Handicapped friendly. Seating comfortable, and staff very helpful.

This was a nice little track. Entrance was easy and painless. Draft beers were only five bucks. Parking was a breeze

We went to Tampa Bay Downs for the first time, got a hotel nearby, and intended to stay two nights and three days. Made reservations at the "fine dining" restaurant on the third floor of the clubhouse. Entrances to the track are not marked as to where they take you at the track. We entered at the first entrance we saw and ended up at the grandstand. There was no way to get over to the clubhouse. Finally found a security person to ask and had to go back out to the highway and to an entrance at the other end for the track's clubhouse and the restaurant. They need better signs.
That was the least of our problems. The "fine dining" room where we had reservations is on the third floor of the clubhouse. Arrived to find the only elevator to that floor of the clubhouse was out of order. Were first told "Don't know what you can do; you're on your own". When we insisted, someone came and took us through the kitchens and up in the service elevator. We were told this was the last time they would do this for anyone as it was a safety hazard. They said the elevator has been out for a while because it is old and they cannot get parts. Their remedy seems to be to ignore the situation. We had to cancel our reservations for the following days due to lack of handicapped access. It was too late to cancel at our hotel and get a refund.
It is against the law to fail to provide handicapped access to public restaurants and other public venues. If an inspector visits the Tampa Bay Downs clubhouse they will find the inspector will shut down their second and third floors. The managers seemed to view our situation as a real inconvenience to them - forget about the inconvenience to their patrons.
Valet parking and restaurant service people were friendly and pleasant. Food was expensive and mediocre. Will not return to Tampa Bay Downs. Not worth the hassle. If you have mobility issues, best to check before you think about going.

Playing Ultimate Texas Holdem, house does not pay "trips" bet separately as they should. I got a straight and tied the dealer and was not paid on the trips bet as I should have. For example, Derby Lane pays off that bet regardless of if you win or lose the bet. It's a separate bet. Total Ripoff, done playing table games there!
On a side note, poker room uses florescent lighting that causes glare and difficulty seeing cards from certain angles. They need to revamp the entire room lighting system.

Tampa Bay Downs is a beautiful facility to participate in the Sport of Kings. The staff is friendly and the patrons are all looking to have a good time. The racing is first rate and you can get close to the action. Worth the trip

Very nice day at the races! Very inexpensive, especially since we had a few wins! No need to be 2 1 years old to use this Groupon. I purchased the Groupon for 4 and went with my husband, and 18 and 15 year old kids.
Plenty of seating, lots of shade, beautiful horses. Definitely recommend!

Hi, Joseph. What would you like to know about this attraction? I thought that they have been closed, but I'm confused...This review shows date of attendance was on April 11, 2020...HUH? Would love to go, haven't been there for several seasons and was looking forward to the trip to the track

It is a VERY casual setting. I would opt for comfortable casual attire but if you want to dress Derby style, go for it!

Yes, there is a nice restaurant overlooking the track, and you can place bets there. They serve sandwiches, steak, seafood, salads, and other items. Of course, there are fast food stands throughout the track.

Sorry, Ralph, I'm not sure what you are asking. We live in Denver and have only visited the Downs once, with friends from Tampa. I'm pretty sure the track is open every day, but I don't know the schedule at all. Thanks for reading our review.
