There is no parking near the theater. There are parking lots a couple of blocks away, and there is an area for passengers to be let off in front of the theater.

There are lots of great restaurants near the theater with different price points

Normally, the organ player will begin playing about 30 minutes before the start of the show. However, if they’re showing a silent movie, the organ player will play throughout the film. My wife and I were fortunate to hear Rosa Rio play the Wurlitzer to a Buster Keaton movie. Before the start of the film, she played some sing-a-longs like “Let me call you sweetheart” and other oldies, which the crowd joyously sang along.

How much does it cost?

We'll second the suggestion of Eddie & Sam's... it's a staff favorite here at Tampa Theatre. Same goes for Taco Bus on Franklin Street, just a few blocks south of us. Any way you slice it (pizza pun intended), downtown Tampa has really boomed in the past few years as far as independent, locally owned restaurants, and there are plenty to choose from within a few blocks of Tampa Theatre. Hi Carly! Tampa Theatre still has its original 1926 Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ. We have a group of volunteer organists who play it for about 15 minutes before nearly every film we show. We also go "back to our roots" as a silent movie palace and show silent films with a live organist about twice a year.

The theatre offers public tours on a Tuesday and Saturday of every month in which you can have a look around as well as detailed information about the building at its history. Other times to check out the building are during shows. The theatre is a non-profit and doesn't keep the lights on all day and has a very small staff. That's why they don't let people come in unattended or in the dark when they are not open for a scheduled tour or event. List of tours and events can be found on their website.
