Design - Nothdale can be a fun and challenging course that makes you think and plan your shots. I have played here many times.
Maintenance - pathetic. Weeds and gouges throughout. Fairways trimmed, but inconsistent with deadspots, weeds, tire gouges. Hard-packed sandtraps with weeds. Greens with dried out spots and speed varies from hole to hole.
Clubhouse -recently remodeled it is a nice place for a beer and food after your round.
Carts - new EZGO carts are a pleasure to use.
I sincerely hope the ownership can get its act together and place more emphasis on course maintence, but as it stands today, it is a tall order

Northdale used to be a wonderful course, but little has been done to maintain. The course was purchase a few months ago but there seem to be zero improvements. They are now advertising a driving range, but it's essentially a 20 foot mat with a net over it- WTH! The cart paths are plagued with pot holes and rough is patches of weeds. We're hoping the new owners are committed to make some significant repairs and upgrades to the course and will give it another try in a few months.

Pretty nice course for the green fees. Fairways well taken care of, some greens need a little care. Lots of water hazards.

An enjoyable round. Pace of play was good. The course was in nice shape considering the time of year. (January) The course offers some narrow tee shots and nice challenging approach shots. 6824 yards, 72.8/129 from blue, 6271, 70.4/120 from white and 5326 , 71.1/121 from the red. My wife liked this course and felt it was quite fair.

As a 'snowbird' who likes to play a lot of golf over the winter I've gotten to know a lot of courses in the Tampa area. Northdale is a nice, well maintained course. I loved the greens: a good true roll. The fairways were typical Florida winter golf. The grass was good and maintained, but expect a lot of tight lies. The layout was good with some very interesting holes and a couple real challenges. There were enough tee locations to pick your comfortable distance. Tee boxes are huge and in perfect condition. There are enough ponds and woods that you'll want to bring extra balls, but it is enjoyable golf and I'll probably return. Now the downsides. This is a puzzling course. It's a darn good golf course, but oh my are the little things out of whack. How about no ball washers--seriously, not one. A lot of the sand traps have no rakes and the ones that do only have one. Many of the cart paths will beat you up with root damage. The men's room in the club house was deplorable: dirty and in desperate need of maintenance. That was true both times that I have been there recently. Some of the golf carts kick out of gear almost every time you stop. Sand traps were a thin layer of nice sand with hard pack immediately below. Not sure what's going on there, but I hope they start paying attention to these things.

Nice course in reasonable condition. We were out last Saturday afternoon and had the course to ourselves. Staff was friendly and very accommodating.

We played this course because of a promotion they are having, and we very surprised at how well the course played. It was in great shape, the greens are awesome, and we will be back.

I met a friend here for a round of 9. We had a great time on the open course. My balls seemed to have really enjoyed the water. Haha. There are quite a few ponds and creeks on the course. On one of the holes there was someone from a charity. For a donation of $10 if you hit the ball on the green over the pond from the tee, you won a sleeve of Mojo balls. My partner won! Only thing I would do next time is bring more balls. Had a great time at Northdale!

I like the layout of the course. I have played it 3 times and every time the same issues:
-Expect a 5-5.5 hour round. They do not know how to manage their tee times.
-The greens were like putting on concrete. A little water on the greens will be nice.
-Be sure to take in the Bayou/Compton feel on number 5.
