We have renewed our membership each year with this theatre group because we have not been disappointed yet with any of their productions. For a local theatre group they have continuely put on an array of excellent shows.

Unexpected treat!!

Was in Venice for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. We have been to musicals and the such in larger venues but never to a play. Was very impressed! We saw, "To Kill a Mockingbird". Cast was amazing! Very friendly staff/volunteers. Comfy chairs. Would definitely consider visiting again.

We did not know the mask policy at this theater. The House Manager treated us so horrifically. I will never return. How were we to know we had to have masks for this show? He screamed at patrons. Jeff should be fired for his terrible behavior. Customer service was brutal. Terrible time. No House Mansger should ever display the terrible customer svc he exhibited. Made people feel terrible. Shame on you.

In the midst of Covid-19 -- including both the surging Delta and Omicron variants -- VT's new masking policy is that "masks are highly recommended." The ONLY reason we purchased tickets for their "Christmas Carol" presentation was because (as stated in their confirmation email was, "Due to the number of unvaccinated performers, mask-wearing is required by all patrons while in the auditorium, before and during the performance."

I talked with the manager before we left prior to the performance starting, and his response was, "Well, our policy has changed!" Anytime any organization changes their policy -- especially when the situation is life-threatening -- patrons should be offered a FULL refund! In our case, we gladly walked away from $50 to ensure the safety of our health. It appeared as though half of the theatre guests were unmasked... including many, many children! Unacceptable!

Venice Theatre has received the last dollar from our pockets!!! We will NEVER RETURN.

FUNNIEST PLAY I'VE SEEN IN AGES!!!!

When you come home with a belly ache from laughing so much, it's proof that the evening was a great success.

My friend Kathy treated me to "THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL" and let me tell it, it was a RIOT!!!!!

What great talent we have in this area, the whole cast was just AMAZING!!! and it never ceases to amaze me the beautiful decor that our locals can create, even though a "trailer park" cannot truly be described as beautiful, but it looked authentic, and that was the whole idea, wasn't it?

I'm not going to give away the plot, because I hope people reading my review will quickly try and get the last available tickets for this ultra funny show!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Went there to see a show and was told u must wear a mask doing the show . The whole state is open always has been another control and power thing . It's totally ridiculous and totally uncalled for. Will not be returning because of your power control u have lost a good customer .

New season ticket holders

After moving to Venice, we had heard so many good things about Venice Theater - so we decided to become season ticket holders. No regrets. The first show we saw was Young Frankenstein - which was great. The cast was super and we really liked the set design and construction. The volunteer seaters were very friendly and helpful also. Looking forward to the season.

AMAZING TALENT, AMAZING STORY!!!!

"JOHN AND JEN " just blew me away!!! When it first started I had the feeling that this was not going to be my cup of tea.....HOWEVER..... the acting and the emotional story of brother and sister and in the second act, mother and son, was just an amazing production.

I hated the fact that we had to keep our masks on throughout, quite uncomfortable, even at Intermission!!!! But this play was so phenominal, I highly recommend for everyone to see it!!!

You could be Covid 19 unsafe

We attended a program on 4/12/21, the program was a Tribute to John Denver and the program was excellent. What was not so excellent was their spacing and social behavior and the Theatre personnel enforcing their rules. There were several patrons that decided they wouldn't wear facial covering as the theatre had announced several times before the performance. I noted the individuals and visited the volunteers to ask them to enforce their rules, Jeff the volunteer visited the patron and the fellow and lady up lifted their face covers. When Jeff left down came the covers...this game went on for 5 visits before the fellow in the party finally got the message. Down the aisle from was in row 2 seat 114 was and elder fellow. When the show started down came his mask and it remained down until he stood to leave 80 minutes. While Jeff stood monitoring the "5" person, he should have easily seen this old SOB with his mask looking like a bad Gracho Marks bowtie. When we first sat, the couple squawked our seats being too close, maybe they were so we relocated. But no seats are the minimum 6' apart. So if you're concerned about your health and social separation please don't go hear. Me I've had my 2 shots and more than a month since having them, but I'd guess that about 50% of the patron are not Florida residents and who knows what they've had.

Love Venice, love the Theatre

I want to tell everuyone the Venice is a bad place because I don't want it to be over run. The truth is it is a great place and I love living here. We are so bless with a great Sen. Ron DeSants . Masks are not mandatory in the state of Florida. So don't let people tell you it is. That is truly against the law. That is one reason why ourVirus and deat5h count is low. Do your own homework . If you're scared to go out without a mask maybe you don't belong here. We love our state we love our beaches and we love our freedom.
