The gardens are amazing, we especially liked the Japanese water gardens. The manor house is also worth taking the time to walk up to. Spectacular views and so calming. The volunteers are knowledgeable and great to speak with. Also, you need to check out the gift shop - very nice. We will be back next year.

Absolutely beautiful, my first visit to the botanical gardens. Everything including the workers were wonderful. We enjoyed a great lunch at the cafe, toured the lovely gardens and throughly enjoyed our day. I highly recommend a visit. Wear comfortable shoes, lots of walking, some steep hills.

My husband and I visited Gibbs Gardens on a lovely fall day in September. The people that work there were excellent at greeting us and orienting us to the garden for that day. We enjoyed the expanse of the place and the leisure atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the rolling hills and walking under the large trees.
We were staying in the Canton area that evening so we were able to stay as long as we wished. I was especially glad that I had finally seen this place on my Bucket List.

Beautiful array of gardens. Me and my husband meandered along and enjoyed the Japanese gardens and the cats onsite. The kitties are almost like celebrities with merch in the gift shop. We will be returning during the seasonal changing of florals.

Enjoyed such lovely gardens on a beautiful spring day in late April. Wear good walking shoes as there are many trails. I needed a break so we ate lunch at the cafe. Food was good: hot dog and chicken salad sandwich, with plenty of tables in and out of the shade. I would suggest a few of the tables needed umbrellas since the sun shines straight down around noon. Gardens have well laid out paths with signage indicating what's ahead; you decide where to go, right or left. The home is a hike up a hill, but worth it just for the views from on top. From one point, you can see mountains in the distance. There were restrooms outside the house, in case you don't wish to walk back to the entrance for toilets, and a patio with chairs to take a break. I understand there is music on certain nights in the summer that I would to love to attend. Employees at the gardens were extremely nice and friendly, from the many parking lot attendees who wave you in, the ticketing cashiers, the cafe workers, and gardeners throughout the park. Very pleasant atmosphere. For the best experience, I would suggest going early before the afternoon crowds.

The gardens are beautiful but the people working there are very rude and arrogant sometimes. Before you enter the gardens, your pocketbooks, backpacks, even strollers are searched. If you dare come in with snacks, you are sent back to your car to leave them there. You have committed the crime of bringing snacks into the park and they treat you that way.
I received an annual pass for Christmas and I used it the other day, only to have some rude old man at the gate search our stuff and ruin our mood at the gardens. I don't care how and beautiful it is there, they need to work on being nicer to the guests, which probably won't happen. It's been that way for years. We won't be back.

Wayne T:
We are sincerely disappointed your visit to Gibbs Gardens was unacceptable and perceived our request to quickly check your belongings before you entered the Gardens as a negative.
We understand that this is a bone of contention with some and is why we post on our website and signage prior to entering the Gardens that we reserve the right to spot check backpacks and large carry bags, including those that may be in the storage section of a stroller. While I was not present when you entered, I can tell you that our protocol does not include viewing the contents of a small handbag or pocketbook unless what you are referring to as a "pocketbook" is a large carry bag.
Again, we do not search nor do we touch any of the contents in a backpack or bag. However, we may ask you to shift the items to one side so we can get a look at the bottom.
As far as snacks, you are correct. The only item allowed in the Gardens from the outside is water. If one chooses not to purchase our food or beverage, you can still bring your own food, but it must be consumed at the picnic tables located outside of the Gardens at the west end of Parking Lot #3. A visitor is welcome to come in and view part of the Gardens, take a break and go to the outside picnic area and dine and then return and finish their tour of the Gardens.
if I am missing something from your comments or you would like to discuss this further, I would be happy to speak with you. I am in the Gardens the better part of every day, but please feel free to call my voicemail direct line at 770/894-8300 and leave your return telephone number and the time of day most convenient to take a call. I will call you back.
Again, my sincerest apologies that we fell short of your expectations, but in the times we are currently living in, we find it necessary to have a rule that allows us to randomly view the items that visitors are bringing into Gibbs Gardens.
Kind regards,
Charlie Frankel

As long as I have lived in Woodstock Georgia I had never heard of Gibbs Garden which is really close. This year I saw a tv commercial about it and decided to check it out. It was a great experience and the flowers and views here are amazing. I even bought a season pass so I can come back as the blooms change daily. It is so peaceful and relaxing walking each of the various gardens. It took 30 years to build this and it has only been open about 10 years. This is a masterpiece and Mr. Gibbs vision is totally worth the trip. Put this on your bucket list. It will not disappoint.

Please read this review to the end for some MAJOR KUDOS to Gibbs Gardens, their management, and their hard working staff!!!
I live relatively close to this BEAUTIFUL place and cannot believe I went there for the first time just this past weekend. Our oldest son chose Gibbs Gardens for his proposal to his soon to be wife which was obviously a complete surprise to her. Thankfully....lol.... she said a big "YES" after a few moments of speechlessness and wiping away all of her tears.
However, aside from this extremely joyful moment with all of the family present for the proposal, my wife of 26 years suddenly discovered that she'd lost one of her beautiful gold, diamond, and emerald earrings that her late father had given to her back in 2005. Needless to say, my wife was extremely devastated.
After the "festivities" of the proposal, all of us began backtracking where we'd been (to the best of our recollection due to the immense size of the gardens), but to no avail, unfortunately.
I immediately contacted the front desk about the loss and they gladly took down all of our information in the event the earring was found and turned in. On our way out, I briefly spoke with an extremely polite and courteous grounds attendant who quickly put me in touch with the general manager whose initials, out of privacy and respect, are CF.
This is where the major kudos and our appreciation of, and to, the entire Gibbs Gardens staff come into play. CF literally took our remorse and concern of the lost earring as though it was his very own wife who'd lost it!!! CF quickly assured me that he and his grounds staff would make every effort to try and find my wife's lost earring and do it VERY SOON! I supplied CF with photos of the 'non-lost earring' for obvious reasons.
It was that same day, after they closed, that CF and his ground crew performed an exhaustive search of the grounds, even utilizing a top of the line metal detector, from where we'd parked our cars and to the first location inside the gardens that my wife realized she'd lost her earring. Steve promptly emailed me the following day to advise me that they unfortunately did not have any luck in finding it. Needless to say, CF and his crew(s) went above and beyond in their attempt to reunite my wife with her sentimental earring she'd lost and, for this, we are EXTREMELY grateful!!!
So..... there's usually a silver lining to most dark clouds and in this instance it prevailed again, thankfully. The very next day, our teenage daughter was cleaning her room (thank goodness...hahaha) and lo and behold guess what she found laying in the corner of her bedroom??? Yup.... you guessed it! My wife had changed shirts in her bedroom before we attended the gardens that day and that's obviously when the earring had fallen off and she never realized it.
I was apologetic to CF for putting he and his crews through such a search, but at the same time, this speaks volumes about Gibbs Gardens attention to detail, their outstanding customer service, and their relentless outreach and attempts to make their customers happy.
I assure you that you will not be disappointed with Gibbs Gardens and the absolute beauty the place beholds. Not only do I give the gardens two thumbs up, but their superior staff as well. Heck.... I'd give 6 stars if I was able to!! Visit Gibbs Gardens one day and you too will experience the same service we did (but hopefully not lose any valuable....haha). Take care and God Bless!

Last year I saw it during Daffodil Days but was too late this year. I saw it right after and there were some daffodils and some tulips. Still worth going. I didn't have time to see everything but that will just give me a reason to go back!

Timing must be everything. We went after the daffodils were no longer in bloom. There were tulip beds in Blossom and that was nice, but the beds were not all that big. Really nothing else in Blossom so it was pretty bland. I suspect later in the season would have been better. Trails and paths are well maintained and easy to navigate. There is almost an overabundance of signs. Plenty of ponds on the grounds. Gazebos and pergolas overlooking area to enjoy views and take pics.
We did not try the food but the one food stand seemed to have reasonable prices for the small selection of sandwiches. Certainly less expensive than similar places I have been to.
No placards naming flowers and plants on property.
Some negatives:
Restrooms apparently only at the entrance. It could be a long walk if needed.
The road to the parkinglots and the lots are crushed stone and dust. If you are not in the primary lot, it is about 1/8 of a mile walk on the road to get back to the entrance. Not a long walk , but it is on the road with passing traffic which is kicking up a cloud of dust. It will get all over you, in your eyes and you will inhale it. They need a walking path to get people out of that road. That is just an accident waiting to happen. The dust is what it is, just be prepared.
Once you get to the entrance there are attendants every where. I don't know if they are volunteers or paid employees but there are so many you get greeted (almost accosted) about every 3 feet. From when you cross abridge until you get past the entry building. I had them quite literally inches from my face 4 times telling me if I needed any help just ask. I am clearly able bodied. It was overkill. Almost a little creepy.
Perhaps if there were a large number of types of flowers and trees in bloom this would have made it more enjoyable. We had a nice walk, but it was a 25$ per person entrance fee to have a nice walk.
I am not sure I have any reason to go back. I would rather go to the Ashville Arboretum or Longwood Gardens near Philadelphia. Much more satisfying experience.

Is jogging through the paths at Gibbs Gardens prohibited? I realize they are used for strolling, but would jogging around the paths pose a problem?

There might be times for jogging but when we were there there were no joggers. Asking the management is a good suggestion.

How much are the tickets? And how long should we plan to be there? (We’ll probably use the tram.)
เขียนเมื่อ 24 เมษายน 2019
The tickets are $20. per person. The tram is $5. per person. I highly recommend the tram. The trams take you to the Manor House and the Japanese Gardens. Definitely take the tram to the Manor House and back down to the visitor center! The garden trails and walkways are well maintained and easy to walk but they are long. I would suggest you take the tram to the Japanese Garden and walk back to the visitor center. You will be able to enjoy the lily pond, statue garden and it is a nice walk with wonderful flowers.
