Popped in for tea, scones and a slice of bara brith with my fiance, on our way back to our holiday lodge. Very friendly and went out of her way to get me some cuttings of a plant i asked for.

Such a lovely place. We spent an afternoon enjoying the stunning gardens and lovely tea-room. Dog-friendly too and a real gem. Would love to return!

Just amazing what one person can achieve over a few years. The family now have the difficult tsk of upkeep especially during drought but ate coping wall. There is so much to absorb so you do need to spend some hours moving from bench to bench reading the excellent artistic guide . The family are friendly and will share there experiences. NOTE The car park is on the opposite side of the road to the gardens and can easily be missed

For a change during your Eisteddfod week, come here. A garden full of great trees, developed since 1984 by one visionary man, Wil Akkerman, who brought his family here and single-handedly transformed a hillside field into a magical garden.
His children continue to develop his vision and daughter Julie’s carrot and orange soup provides a tasty and filling lunch before or after you wander the gardens - as there is also a lower water-meadow garden.
We loved it, and also really enjoyed the bonsai garden of indigenous trees. Many different birches, a magnificent golden elm and a superb weeping beech vie with uncommon styrax and eucryphia. Many of the plants that frame the borders can be bought.

The surprise of finding the garden after so many years. I love the ethos of it and the family history. Well maintained and an interesting collection of trees in particular. Stunning cacti in the greenhouse and an interesting collection of bonsai.
Great carrot cake and scone. Always the sign of a good garden visit. Stuart made the tea exactly how we like it. We've sent friends already and will be back in the autumn.

Absolutely hidden gem, beautiful gardens well worth a visit, even to sit in the coffee shop and take in the quiet atmosphere, it can easily be passed by, but please don't it is a stunning little place, very knowledgeable and helpful people and a fascinating story about the origins etc.

The gardens are immaculate but not too formal. They are lovingly tended by the son of the founder. The daughter does stirling work in the cafe. Delicious food reasonably priced. There are many shady spots to sit and wonder at the beauty of the trees and plants. The whole is wonderfully landscaped, by the first owner, and his family carry on the tradition. Love of plants is very obvious. I had to buy some rather more unusual varieties. Do go if you are anywhere near Aberaeron or Lampeter or it's worth a drive in the Welsh countryside.

An uplifting visit to an interesting family garden with a high degree of unusual plants. We thoroughly enjoyed our soup and roll at the tea room before using the well presented guide to walk the garden. Would thoroughly recommend this place as an interesting visit even if you aren’t that horticulturally inclined.

We had a lovely visit to Cae Hir gardens. Beautiful, sensitive planting, with lots of different types of plants to see. Lots of lovely little paths and different planting areas to explore. Wildflower and pond area was magical. Entrance fee was very modest for the calibre of garden. They're partnered with the RHS so you know it's going to be worth the visit. All of the facilities were very good, there's a lovely tea area and cafe, and plants to buy as well. Well worth a visit.

hi are dogs allowed?

Dogs do need to be kept on a lead but they are allowed into th gardens and they do put a tub of water for them to drink in the cafe area.
