We visited Dillard and chose the 1,5 hour river trail ride. Most of the ride was literally riding in the river which at first put me off- we are experienced riders and I thought it would be monotonous- but it turned out to be great fun. We had a beautiful early autumn day. The river is lovely - I wish I’d brought me fly rod. The horses were solid. Kaylee was a good guide, and it turned into a perfect afternoon. The sort of lazy day you’d have going with your friends and horses to play down in the river.

The personnel were very nice. The horses were typical for a trail ride. My significant other loved the ride because he was right behind the trail leader. I was in the middle so not as excited about it. The trail leader did not point out things to us which I’ve experienced in the past. She did answer questions if we asked.

Staff was very friendly, attentive, thorough with instructions, allowed time to get to know your horse, let you know about the personality of the horse. This was a casual walking ride to enjoy the river experience and mountain scenery (no trotting or running). Riding through the river was fantastic and you may get your feet wet if you can’t bring your feet up. Recommend the river ride!

We stayed at the Dillard House, in one of the cottages this summer. The accommodations were great and the restaurant was average. The horseback riding, could have been a magical experience... but I actually fell off the horse. The saddle on my horse was not tight or tied to the horse well. After a few minutes of riding, I slid right off the horse and into the mud. It might have been a blessing I fell into the mud and not on the hard ground. When I fell, the horse backed up, almost as if he had been trained... which was probably also a good thing. After it happened, I was pretty sure I wasn't hurt, thankfully, and one of the workers came over to help me up. She asked who put my saddle together, but of course I didn't know any names and was too shook up to describe the worker. It was explained to me that the saddle was too loose. The ride could have been very nice, had I not been so shook up. My kids liked it and it was fun for them to go wading in the water on the horses. After the ride was over, my husband went to inquire what happened and how I could have fallen and no one on staff would speak to my husband about it. He got the vibe they didn't seem to care. He had left a really nice tip, but decided to take back the tip, which the front desk was very nice about. If you plan to go horseback riding, just please ask the workers to ensure your saddle is very tight and safe. Good luck.

Fantastic!! My husband and I along with our two girls were first time riders. The staff were wonderful and ensured nobody was left behind. The dip in the river was our favorite part. Please be advised your feet and ankles will get wet. I would highly recommend them.

We specifically booked our stay at The Dillard House so that my granddaughter could ride often during our 4 night stay. We called the stable Sunday afternoon, but no answer. We called twice on Monday, but no answer. Got a text Monday evening that said they had been closed due to possibility of rain. Called twice on Tuesday, but no answer. Called Wednesday morning. The young lady said that they were now fully booked thru Saturday! Bad, bad customer service. Why don't they answer the phone and why don't they have a waiting list?

Had a wonderful time riding in the river with Kayla as our guide. She gave us the option of getting wet up to our knees or a little less time in the water and not getting wet. The ride was relaxing and the scenery beautiful. I'm a seasoned rider, but my husband is not, and he said this is the only time he has enjoyed riding. Thanks again Kayla and the whole team at the stables. I gave it only 4 stars because of the cost of the picture afterward - $20 for the "group" picture (me and my husband) or $10 for single rider pics - and the quality of the picture was not good at all! (compared to the zipline place - $35 for 7 videos and about 20 pictures on a zip drive).

Great Ride with a awesome ,professional team. The team worked extra hard to help my wife . The one hour farm ride take along the river . Great email communication between myself and stable management .

We wanted to go horse back riding and we knew that since it was December we would not be able to do the river ride. We booked the 90 minute farm ride instead. The scenery was beautiful but it really was not a 90 minute ride. We probably only were on the horses for about an hour and the ride was really slow with lots of standing around. This was probably due to the mud on the trails that the horses had to walk through. I just did not think the ride was worth the money we paid.

Had an AMAZING experience this Saturday! The entire time was beyond enjoyable and relaxing. Gracie was an absolute sweet heart and told me the history of the place and how well taken care of the horses are! This was a huge deal for me to know these horses are well kept and cared for! Highly recommend going
I did the Hour and a half River ride ( def do this one ) And was a great amount of time and beautiful scenery!
I LOVED my horse , Tucker, and was a veteran horse and so well behaved !
