I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed this Conservation area. Very clean and a lot of programs for children. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

First time here. Camped in 321 no services but a premium lot. In an area of the park with mostly seasonal campers that return each year. We would go back for sure. Park has a ice hiking trail 1.1 km around the lake through some trees Easy walk. Beach, playground. Kids biking. Two comfort stations clean well maintained.

Been there just once before, a few years back. Decided to go there with friends for a camp out to end the summer on a fun note. Things didn't exactly go as we'd hoped.
Firstly, we were given a spot with no shade (when there were plenty of shaded spots surrounding us). We weren't sure if we were allowed to ask for a different spot since we had already arrived and did the paperwork, so we took what we got.
But, on top of that, we had noisy neighbors who were drinking, smoking, and shouting until the early hours of the morning during one night of our stay. And, of course, they stuck around the very edge of our campsite (keeping us awake and making me, at least, feel nervous). If this is a common problem with this place, they really should hire people to patrol the place at night.
Regarding the campground's lake, which was the only place to cool off, it stunk (both the water and the sand smelled foul and required us to use the showers afterwards to rid us of the after-smell). I get that that's how nature works, but still, it's a shame.
And whoever designed the showers is a total idiot, by the way. You can't control the temperature of the water! All that's there is a single button that runs the water for 30 seconds and then shuts it off, and the water is BOILING. We were there during a heat wave / drought that forced a fire ban across the camp ground and the showers were permanently set to BOILING. All 4 of us in our group were extremely frustrated about that.
So, with the showers being the final nail in the coffin, I can safely say that I will not be returning to this campground again, thank you. It's too bad, really, because without these problems (excluding the lake smell - that's just nature) I would have been comfortable recommending this place.

My husband and I have been going to Chippewa Creek Conservation Area since we moved to Wellandport 11 years ago. We like it in all seasons because the walking trail there is usually well maintained, the parking is convenient, dogs are welcome and the scenery is pretty. We have only two complaints: 1. We wish we didn't have to pay an entrance fee just to walk there during the summer months. We think $10.00 is too much to pay to go for a walk five times per week. 2. Although the garbage is always picked up and the grass cut, we'd like to see more attention paid to tree maintenance. This is, after all, a Conservation Area. They surely must have known for years that they were going to have to remove a lot of dead ash trees, yet no replacement trees appear to have been planted. If this had been done, the park would be far more beautiful than it is today and I could rate it "above average", rather than "average".

As with most provincial parks it is extremely difficult to reserve a serviced site. We had no hydro or water on our site. Our site was huge and we had a lot of privacy and our site was partially shaded as well. The beach is a good size and the river was warm and the kids had a great time swimming. The washrooms and showers are fantastic! They are kept clean and look brand new. The showers are free! We had a lot of fun fishing and swimming. You can rent canoes and/or paddle boats. The campers here are really friendly. The park is small and I wish there was a pool for the kids.

We checked into Chippawa Creek Conservation Campground Friday 29 July 16. Check in was smooth because we had a reservation. Filled out one card with vehicle info. Then we were off to our camp spot which was 517.
The five hundred series is located east side of the campground. No hook ups so it was a dry camp out.
Our fellow campers were settle in as well. The area is very quiet however there were a couple spots that filled in afterwords that were not so quiet!
Load music don't get me wrong here I like load music as well but wow! Not for that long. As evening approached it just got loader. I asked them to turn the volume down and just received a bunch of things I do not want to repeat. Anyway they didn't go to bed till 0300 in which kept everybody up!
The next day I reported this to the office, unfortunately this did nothing to control and or tell these people to quiet down. Saturday night into Sunday went down the same way. Load swearing and music. A couple other campers said to settle down but received the same language I did. The park security seem to do nothing about it.
So a long story short I do not recommend this 500 series spots to any family's that want to get a solid night sleep.
The staff needs to be for all the campers rest and relaxation! And enforce the rules of the conservation area. In my opinion they have not this weekend.

We are seasonal campers at this hidden gem and it offers everything that you would get when you travel north except you don't need to drive for hours to get there. For us it isa 35 minute drive and only 10 minutes from Dunnville.

Are there fire pits at all the campsites? And do they sell firewood?

Every campsite comes with a firepit and firewood can be purchased for $8 a bag.

There are racoons in pretty much any campground, and this one is no exception. Keep food in your car, and *never* in your tent- including candy.

Do you have boat rentals. And if so what is the cost of rental?

They have kayaks and canoes only. No gas power boats allowed on this lake, only electric motors. Not sure in cost
