The one hour pedicure was $55 and a complete waste of time and money. The seating in the pedicure area is so uncomfortable -- no massage chairs and bench like seating with no support. We were supposed to have feet/massage as part of the one hour pedicure and neither technician provided that. One of the staff members was in the bathroom so long (more than 15 min) talking loudly on her cell phone so we had to ask to use another bathroom and were told to use the men's restroom. I was told to go pick out my polish from the front lobby and bring it back to the pedicure room when I had no idea what number to pick (polishes were not labeled) for the shellac I wanted. The service was very very very slow. We basically got the 30 minute service (spa pedicure) for the 60 minute price. Very poor experience, and I would never go there again.

I booked in advance with this salon because the Hyatt Mccormick recommended them. I get there, the male stylist kept asking me what I wanted and I told him up and curly. I specifically said that I need a formal updo for an awards dinner that night. To make a Very long story short, he didn't listen to anything I had to say and mentioned another client coming in. After slicking my hair to my head on the sides (no exaggeration here) and him pull it all back in a tight pony with a thick rubber band (the stationary kind), I soon realized that maybe his 'half up do' would be better than where that was headed. He was happy to oblige because he said the half up wouldn't take as long. He had to cut the rubber band out and then the end result was about a 6 inch poof on top of my head and the rest of my hair straight..slicked back sides..I should have requested a refund but I was just in shock with how he treated me and his view of what a formal updo is. It was definitely just a style with teased hair and I was charged $100 even. I went back to my hotel room and all the other girls agreed that it definitely looked more like elvis and that we needed to fix it somehow. This was the absolute worst salon experience I have ever had, and I have had my hair styled for updos in multiple locations. So terrible, that this is the first time I have ever took the time out to write a review about it. I hope others read this and think twice before they waste their money and damage their hair here.

THEY STORE YOUR CREDIT CARD WITHOUT PERMISSION SO THAT THEY CAN CHARGE YOU IN CASE OF CANCELLATION. THE ONLY PROBLEM, THEY FORGET TO MENTION THAT WHEN YOU ARE MAKING A FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT. BUYER"s BEWARE!!
Few weeks ago, I was at the Aniko Salon to get my haircut for which I paid with my credit card, an american express card.
At that time, I also made a follow up appointment for separate service on 5/22/15.
On 5/22/15, I called to cancel the appointment, and was told that because it is a same day cancellation, they are going to charge my credit card.
When I enquired further about the credit card as no one asked for the credit card when I was making a follow up appointment, and no one told me that if I have to cancel my appointment less than 24 hours, I will be charged on my credit card, they informed me that they proceeded to keep the american express card number without my authorization on the file and in their secured database so that it can be charged as needed for any cancellation of service. Again, at no point of time, this was disclosed to me as I might not have scheduled the service at all or have not partake in any of their services that they provided. I was not aware that they are storing my credit card information without notifying me, and I consider that a personal breach, financial breach as well as inaccurate dissipation of information.

Stay away unless you like to be charged for extra services that your stylist didn't even mention you were getting done!
I have a few issues with my recent visit at Aniko and I will NOT be back!
First of all, I never received the 20% off discount they were offering last month for having a service done of $60 or greater. I received a gift card of $130 to get my hair done for Christmas and I made an appointment for 1/5/15 for a color and cut. After making the appointment I received the email stating their special and called to make sure that preexisting appointments still qualify. The receptionist that I spoke with on Sunday the 4th said that I can still receive the discount. When I was cashing out on Monday I asked the guy (who was kind of rude) if the 20% discount was applied and he said that it was. I don't know if he was confused and was thinking about the gift card, but after getting home and doing the math there was no 20% off applied to my bill.
Speaking of paying, that brings me to my next issue. When I was cashing out, I discovered that I still owed $90 after my gift card was applied totaling an amount $220. I saw written down on a paper the following:
Foil $130
Glaze $30
H/C $60
Glaze?? Why am I being charged for a Glaze if my stylist NEVER mentioned anything about it. I had NO Idea that it was an additional service that I was being charged for, and didn't even know that it was getting done. I think it is a very irresponsible thing to do and definitely reflects poorly on their salon. My fiancé and I have been coming to Aniko since we moved to Chicago over 3 years ago. We have never had an issue before and this is absolutely ridiculous. We both work in the service industry so we fully understand the meaning of upselling to increase the bill, but I would NEVER add something to someones bill without consulting with them first.
When I called the next day to talk to a manager (who never seems to be around when I call), the best the receptionist could offer me is 50% off my next service. I don't want a discount off of my next service because honestly after this, I don't foresee myself coming back. EVER!
I have called several times since and sent an email and yet still no response. Way to be professional Aniko. You are stealing from your customers and its not right!

My son gave me a 90 minute massage for my birthday! Yay! Too bad I got Darren as my masseur. The ambience at this spa is very nice, but my massage was mediocre at best. It was OK--not superb but just OK--until the last 20 or so minutes, when he decided to just sit here holding my head. I thought he had gone to sleep. I said politely that he could massage my head if he wanted. No movement. I suspect he had fallen asleep. I said again that I was getting rather bored sitting there with him holding my head. No movement. Finally I just sat up and said "this is over", which I have NEVER done during a massage. Usually I'm so sad when it's over. He mumbled something about doing cranial-something work, which is a pile of crap. In fact, my neck now hurts where he was holding it and it did not hurt when I went in. Being a sucker, I left him a tip for the first hour and now I want to go take it back now that I'm writing about it. .
If this is the quality of massage workers they hire, I will not be back. There are too many better places around, and though the ambience is nice, once you're face down on the table getting what you're really there for, who cares?

For the price of the massage, I expected something better. For $100 a person, I expect a masseuse to know how to properly give a deep tissue massage. For me, it felt like all I was getting was a light back rub with massive amounts of oil on my back. I also expected a quiet, serene environment, but the place was really busy and really loud and there was no way to properly enjoy my massage.
I would not go back, nor would I recommend anybody to this establishment.
