A fantastic trail area along Lake Michigan.
I walked from town to the Aquarium and Field Museum over a couple of different days and enjoyed the Autumn leaves blowing everywhere, the Canada Geese that had come to visit and getting out into the fresh air.
If I'd travelled with friends, I definitely would have hired the bikes and done some additional riding and exploring.
A great open space area for residents and visitors alike.

This is a nice trail along the lake. Wide sidewalks, but lots of bikes. Just make sure you are paying attention when walking this trail. Pretty views though!!!

This is a great option if the weather is good to simply stroll along the lake front. It’s wide, so good space for cyclists and pedestrians. I would definitely recommend if the weather is on your side

This is a wonderful space to enjoy the outdoors. Miles of trail to walk or bike. The view of the river and the Chicago skyline keeps things interesting.

Lakefront Trail has got to be one of the world’s best greenways! Views of the lake and skyline were wonderful. I ran various parts on three consecutive days. So good! Must do for exercising.

Great route which I think stretches 25 miles which is a little out of our comfort zone. The bike lanes were wide well kept and not busy. You have great views of the lake and there are pit stops and parks with benches if you wish to cool down under a tree😊

Walking along Lake Michigan is so scenic and relaxing. No matter where you start or end up, it's a beautiful walk. So many sights to see, I recommend walking to the Navy Pier, it makes for a great hike.

This is a beautiful trail that takes you all along the lake shore. It is pretty wide but be careful. There’s some people riding electric scooters and bikes that don’t yield to people crossing.

Andare a Chicago senza passeggiare (o, meglio ancora, andare in bicicletta) per il Lakefront Trail è un po' come farsi il the senza mettere la bustina nell'acqua. Il percorso, nel suo complesso, è davvero suggestivo, con decine di servizi di ogni genere (campi sportivi, spiagge, noleggio di canoe, parchi, toilette e aree di sosta) e diversi punti panoramici da cui ammirare il meraviglioso skyline della città.
Il tutto, dettaglio non meno importante, con una cura estrema del verde e dell'igiene.
L'ideale è noleggiare una Divvy per l'intera giornata (costa 15 dollari e va semplicemente lasciata e ripresa ogni 3 ore) e farlo tutto portandosi dietro pranzo e merenda al sacco, riposandosi di tanto in tanto sotto un albero con vista sul lago Michigan.
Il tutto, dettaglio non meno importante, con una cura estrema del verde e dell'igiene.

Linda pista/trail de caminhada/corrida ou pedal. Ela percorre um longo trecho beirando o lago michigan, podendo ver a cidade de diversos angulos e acessando as principais atrações da cidade. A corrida/caminhada é muito agradável através da lakefront trail

Driving up early Friday from Indiana. Would like to park near southern trailhead of Lakefront Trail, and walk/run a few hours. Suggestions for Parking?

Hi, you might consider parking at the Field Museum or near that area:
$20 for up to 4 hours, $25 for up to 12 hours.
The North Garage (accessible via the main entrance on Museum Campus Drive) is open from 5am to 5pm every day. Parked cars can leave after closing hours, but overnight parking is not allowed. Good luck!

There are city parking garages in Grant Park.if you go further north, there are free parking areas at Montrose beach!

There is a bike rental concession located in Millenium Park right off of Randolph. It is about a block from the lakefront path. There are numerous places to rent the Divvy bikes, but they do not include helmets.
