Great system of trails and lakes which also include the unique opportunity to see elk grazing as you enjoy them. Was in town for a week for business and went to this trail system twice for some exercise. Trails are mostly paved and well marked. There are signs showing you where you are within the park and what is around you. Perfect for picnicking, getting a workout in, or flying your RC aircraft.

We were in the Chicagoland area for a wedding the weekend of September 10-12, 2021. Our hotel was located in Wood Dale, only a short drive to BWFP.
We are bicyclist and rode the trail system Friday early evening and Saturday afternoon. The trail system is paved and overall very nice. The main loop is 7 miles. Most of the path is through the woods and a significant amount is shaded which is especially nice on a hot day. Several of the roads are traversed by bridges on the trail route. There is very little of the trail that goes along a road. The natural environment is beautiful.
We would definitely recommend visiting BWFP and using the trail system during the day. Our early evening ride was very buggy.
Although our primary purpose was to bike ride we did note that there is several other activities that people were enjoying in this area including, rollerblading, running, walking, fishing, kayaking, picnicking, lawn games, and other activities you would expect to see in any park. We found it humorous that there are multiple signs prohibiting snowmobiling. Access to the various areas and the trails is available at several points in the area. Parking is good and there is no charge.
We would definitely recommend going to Busse Woods Forest Preserve if you enjoy any outdoor activity noted or just need to commune with some beautiful nature in a well developed community.

Happened to stumble uptown this park during my weekend trip to Chicago and fell in love with this long trail amidst city of Schaumburg. Ton of picnic areas, rest rooms and very well marked trails. Ton of bikers and walkers and well shaded areas as well. Only downside was that dog walkers did not clean up after their pets. The place really sticks up because of their negligence.

This is a very well maintained and scenic area that is suited for bike riding, walking, picnicking, fishing and sunbathing. There are numerous playing fields and even a model airplane flying area.

Busse Woods Forest Preserve in Elk Grove Village is an excellent park with a vast variety of options for recreation. During my recent visit in August, I rode my bike riding and thoroughly enjoyed the asphalt-paved trail. The trail is well groomed and maintained in excellent condition by the Forest Preserve. The main loop trail is about 7 miles long and there are additional side trails making a total of about 11 miles. The trail has a variety of scenery with shade and exposed areas. The vast forest preserve has several entrances and parking lots. I didn’t encounter any bug problem during my summer visit.
Some of the highlights of the park include the two bridges over Higgins Road, the elk herd, the beautiful meadows, woods and lakes. The major disadvantage is that the place gets very crowded (especially on nice weekends). The trail traffic can get pretty heavy with all sorts of people... walkers, runners, people fishing, people on skates & roller blades, and of course bikers (of all skill levels). The trail is narrow at some places so just be aware of your surroundings.
One will be able to enjoy this beautiful trail much more during off peak times. I highly recommend this trail!

A nice place to stroll, bike or blade on a sunny day. Hard to believe it is so close to O'HARE airport. Enter off South Arlington Heights Rd. Bathrooms closed off season. Bring water. Red trail is a 7.7 mile loop.

After the Bears game Sunday afternoon, there were bikers and walkers enjoying this trail. Great place for families to enjoy nature. Path is paved. Despite the noise of the heavy traffic along Arlington Heights Road, the trail offers bikers and walkers a chance to enjoy nature on a lovely afternoon.

とにかく大きい公園で、トレイルの長さも半端ないです。その分、気持ちが良いですし、開放感もあります。おすすめです。

The path was an easy paved trail within view of the elk pasture. We parked at the Elk Grove. The tail is easy for kids and grandmas in wheelchairs too. Being from California this was a great way to see the Illinois woods.

I went there after reading about the new business online . I was looking for a motor boat because I had two kids with me ( two and nine ). Price $25/ hour on their website when I was about to pay them the girl started explaining that the motor battery runs for only an hour but the minimum I could rent the boat was two hours which meant $50 even when you where on the boat for an hour. Please do go not even try to take your kids there once your boat dies you're on your own. Not kid friendly at all . I have been going to busse woods for the last twenty years and I have never seen anything like this.

Hi I was wondering if the quarantine order has affected the open hours. Are all of the parking lots and bluff roads blocked off?

Last I heard all parking lots are closed but the park is open.
Can you paddle board on Busse lake?
I was told Is not allow and you can get a tickets so I couldn’t try :(
