The Goat Trek is one of the most fun experiences you can have when visiting Galena. We went for a girls weekend and had the best time. The staff was wonderful and knowledgeable and made sure we had a great trek. TIP: Goats are impartial to selfies. A picture is worth a thousand words. Look how much fun we had on our hike!

So fun. Loved it so much. We've gone twice now. The goats are charming and adorable. The owners who lead the walk love to share their knowledge of the goats with you as you walk along. There's also an opportunity to feed the goats and get pics with the goats!

What a fun adventure we had! This was such a unique experience and we loved every minute of it! It is a great way to get outside and make some new four-legged friends too. I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

To the women who have us the tour… please adopt me. You told my friends and I how you ended up with goats and right after I knew you were an amazing mom.
I would recommend this activity to every single person who visits Galena. The family history, the walk, THE GOATS, it’s all worth every penny.

This is the serotonin boost you need! Our guides were fabulous and the goats were fun to walk with. The ground a bit uneven so be sure to wear good walking shoes and the drive up on a bumpy gravel road so be prepared for that. We were given time to pose for pictures and learn about the goats/program. I would definitely go again!!

This is a one-hour guided walk (you need to reserve in advance) through a 300-acre setting with a bunch of goats following you around. The goats will simply keep pace - stopping when you stop - going when you go - and eating along the way. Our tour was with the owner - who explained how all this came to be and why - with stories on her family and the goats. Midway through, she offers to take pictures of each party and also you get to feed the goats. Reasonable pace for everyone to keep up without being rushed - but not get feeling like it is time to move on.

We had such an amazing time! The goats were so friendly and just loved all the attention! Such a peaceful walk and very interesting to hear the history. Would recommend taking in the hike/tour, you won’t regret it!!

It is exactly what you think it is. And yes, it's as fun as you imagine it would be.
We went on a Fri. Morn, our 2 older teen boys, lots of families, lots of kids, maybe 24 people total, we were outnumbered by the goats, who walk and do "goat" things. Easy walk, several stops and photo ops. Quick drive.

We saw "Hoof It" on the Google map when researching the house our family was renting in the Galena Territory and were immediately distracted by the idea of seeing some goats up close. We really had no idea what to expect.
Surprise! There are goats. The walking trek with the goat herd was a lot of fun. They don't seem to care too much about us peoiple, unless we were feeding them, but they certainly didn't mind the pets and pats. They treat you like part of the herd and just mill about, run ahead, or stop for a nibble as you walk along.
The trekking path is relatively flat and easy to walk on, but you are walking on grass and in a wooded area. Anyone with issues walking on uneven ground will need to be cautious.
This was a great way to spend an hour or so on a nice afternoon. We did the public trek, but you can also book a private trek, a baby goat trek (!), and treks that include music and other extras. Don't forget to check out the gift shop -- the logo goats great on a shirt.

The goats were very friendly and the little ones enjoyed it. Granted we had to take a detour because of the rattlesnake sun bathing on our trail but for $24 it was fun!

We are glad you had a nice time on your hike. Whenever we encounter any wildlife we do our best not to disturb it. We are in their territory and the less interaction we have with them the safer they are and the safer we and the goats are. Be thankful you have trained/skilled outdoor guides leading your hike who know when to proceed and when to alter a tour. Our property is home to diverse wildlife; we are thankful for it and love sharing it with our guests. Thank you again for hoofing it.
