This ambience and all the bartenders and waiters and waitresses are so friendly. They have amazing flights and events on some nights. It seems like you stepped behind a book case hidden door, the drinks are good and the atmosphere is complimented by a nice distillery museum and Americana history. You get to “meet” The owners by reading their story on the walls and it is so great!

Tucked behind the Harley dealership is a hidden gem of the North Shore. Great craft cocktails in a relaxed setting. Enjoy the atmosphere for a very special drink, purchase bottles of spirits distilled on site or take a distillery tour.

Yes, yes, I know having lived on the North Shore most of my life (and that is decades!), it may prove inconvenient for the less ambitious to travel west of Lake Bluff on Hwy 176; just east of I-294. Once you believe you are and become adventuresome, you will relish a speakeasy with a wide variety of fantastic cocktails whose spirits are produced on-site. The NSD owners are on-site and their staff are attentive and skilled. BTW the atmosphere is relaxed and elegant with bar and living room seating. We enjoy bringing our friends. Recommend at the highest level!
PS: Compared to the Lantern's Keep, Iroquois Hotel, NYC, the North Shore Distillery offers a wider selection in a more spacious setting.

North Shore distillery is a premium distiller of small batch craft spirits. Each batch of spirits is fermented, blended and distilled onsite. You can sit at the bar or lounge and taste vodkas, gins, rums, aquavit and absinthe or enjoy a cocktail. They even offer tastings and a guided tour of the distillery. The spirits are smooth, fragrant and better than top shelf liquor made by the large scale producers. They even make an absinthe an anise forward drink which is worth trying. The staff and owners are onsite, very friendly and knowledgeable,
