The view at the lookout was good but nowhere near as breathtaking as Leven Canyon. Interesting geology - clear layers of rock visible at the cliffs. Walk was somewhat harder and longer than we expected, so be warned!

This is one of my favourite places in Tasmania, in fact the world. The walk is an easy 40 minute return trip but you are rewarded with an amazing view at the end. This place, tulampanga, was place where 3 nations came together. It feels special. A must see when in the Mole Creek area.

A pretty easy walk in on a solid and stable walking track. About 15mins walk one way. There is a bit of up hill but not too hard if you have a bit of fitness. The view is 100% worth the walk, spectacular view of the cliffs and river. There is an observation deck at the end it provides a great platform for the view. Overall definitely worth it and a relatively short diversion off the main road. Allow about 45mins to give yourself time to enjoy the view. There is currently a couple of quite tame roosters in the car park that will take food from your hand if you have some scraps handy.

As you leave Mole Creek towards Deloraine, the turn off to this is on your left just out of town... follow that road for a few kilometres ( reasonably well sign-posted) to a car park. There is room for several cars to park.
Tulampanga is a sacred site for the aboriginals...it was the meeting place of there Aboriginal Nations. There is an ochre dreaming place nearby- which was often the case with meeting places for aboriginals.
From the carpark you will follow the path that takes you on a very pretty forest walk. Even if you didn't read one of the many information boards along the way... you can sense that something special happened here.
You will see birds, lizards and wallabies along the way... as you follow the. path to the lookout. It's not entirely about the look out... you should just enjoy the walk. It just makes sense that aboriginals prized this area... there is water nearby, ochre, lookouts and an inviting terrain.
However it is indisputable that once you do get to the lookout that you will be captivated by the breathtaking view. I sat on the seat the top for awhile and just listened to the sounds around me, appreciating how it felt to be so alive.

Great view of the river running between spectacular high cliffs! Definitely worth the 800m walk in. Easy track although it is up and down throughout. We went the day after a significant downpour so the river was thundering.

An easy, gradual walk up to a lookout point with spectacular views of a river carving through a dramatic cliff face. The cliffs are amazing. They seem to jut out at a strange angle. You can see where the river has broken through the cliffs. The river is windy with several rapids.

We love this place so much. It is a significant part of Tasmanian history and is a beautiful spiritual area with huge meaning to Tasmania's first nations. A must do when you are in this area.

This is a pretty easy walk through the nature park where they are information about the Aboriginal culture. And there is a viewing point which has great views of the mountains and the river. Highly recommended.

Not that well sign posted, we used maps app to get to it. It’s only a short walk but does have some slightly uneven ground (we were absolutely fine in trainers) and steps. Beautiful view when you get to it.

well worth the visit lots of bird life well maintained acidnas (spiny ant eaters) where scratching about lots of ochre cliffs for native coloring
