This was our second visit to Veligandu and it more than surpassed our wonderful memories of the first trip. As returners, we were made to feel really special.

The island itself has incredible natural beauty and lush green areas well nurtured by the staff, but also the arrangement of the resort has been carefully thought out to make the most of these assets. Views from the two bars and buffet restaurant are stunning.

Our Villa was, as requested, on the sunset side of the island and we had the most magical views from our deck at sundown. I cannot express just how beautiful it is.

The staff are lovely; discreet and unfalteringly polite and helpful. We enjoyed two exquisite meals on the edge of the Indian Ocean at the a la Carte restaurant, and enjoyed all the buffet food, particularly the freshly griddled yellow fin tuna.

We hope to return again after the refurbishments and do hope the management will bear in mind the qualities of this lovely island that attract so many repeat guests year after year. Please try not to spoil its rustic beauty by over development. We love it as it is!

Das Essen war großartig, das Personal war super, sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Außerdem gab es überall Wasser umsonst. Auch die Getränkepreise sind sehr fair. Bier 6 Dollar, habe ich schon anders erlebt.

Ganz toll fand ich die Band die abends an der Bar oder im Restaurant gespielt hat. Jay und seine 2 Mitglieder sind sehr nett und gehen auch auf Wünsche der Gäste ein. Vielen Dank Jay und Rest der Band. Eure Musikauswahl ist sehr passend zum Ambiente

We had a perfect stay at the Veligandu resort. The staff was always friendly, the weather was great (even during the rainy season), and there was a fun mix of couples, families, and friend groups. They had an activity every night at the main bar and their were plenty of activities to keep us busy for our weeklong stay.

Der Perfekte Ort zum Entspannen un die seele baumeln zu lassen 🏝 Man wird mit leckeren drinkt begrüsst und das Gepäck wird direkt zum Zimmer gebracht. Die Bungalows sind in Top zustand und sehr hygienisch. Ausserdem sind die Sachen wie Seife, shampoo sehr Nachhaltig und dehr hochwertig. Das Personal ist sehr sehr sehr freundlich und versucht einem wirklich jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Die Insel ist sehr gepflegt, wird täglich gewässert und ist damit auch sehr grün. Der Sand auf dem Strand ist weich und die arbeiter entfernen jeglichen Müll der vom Meer auf den strand gespült werden mehrmals täglich. Die Speisekarte ist sehr vielseitig und man hat eine riesen auswahl wirklich guter sacheb. Es ist für vegetarische Leute auch allerhand dabei. Es gibt viele exotische Tiere auf der insel sowie Geckos, Krabben, Reiher ähnliche vögel, vom Meer brauche ich garnicht reden.
Man kann mit einem Guide auf die unterschiedlichsten Expeditionen gehen. Die Guides können alle gut deutsch und man wird sicher neue Dinge entdecken.
Es gibt aber auch romantische candle light dinners für paare. Die Insel ist ein Ort für jeden, der entspannen möchte aber auch für jeden mit Abenteuerlust.

Ps So gut wie alles ist barrierefrei zugänglich.

Veligandu 2nd visit

This was our 8th time to the Maldives and our 2nd visit to Veligandu. This island is absolute paradise.
The food is lovely. There is the gorgeous buffet restaurant, the wonderful a la carte Madavaru restaurant and you can even get bar snacks as part of the AIP.
The island is very well tended but still feels natural. We saw reef sharks feeding at the water’s edge every day.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very well kept and even though the resort was full it didn’t feel it.
The staff will do anything for you and we would like to give a special mention to Manju, Mita, Elisa and Melvyn in the Thundi bar. They made our holiday even better. Manju is the best bartender in the world. All the staff are professional but friendly and are always happy.
This island succeeds in getting the balance of relaxed, casual and luxurious just right.
If you are thinking of booking it just do it.

A beautiful island full of beautiful people…… A water bungalow where we watched the sunrise each day.
It’s been 5 years since we visited Veligandu and as soon as we stepped back on the island it felt like we had come home. The welcome, the family feel, the friendly staff - once you step off of the seaplane and kick off your shoes you slip into relaxation mode.
It’s heaven on earth - but it’s the staff that really make it special!
If you are reading this and thinking of booking - do it - book it now - I promise you really won’t regret it!!

Un séjour merveilleux 😍

Nous avons passé 7 jours de rêve au sein de ce resort dans la chambre "Sunset Water Villa with Jacuzzi" (pilotis) en pension complète. Je tiens à m'incliner devant la qualité de service fournie par le personnel. Ils sont vraiment dévoués et font leur possible pour vous satisfaire. Les chambres sont faites 2 fois par jour. Les pilotis sont reliés par de jolis pontons avec des douchettes tout le long pour se rincer les pieds (car tout le resort est recouvert de sable). Le resort est grand et il y a un large choix de "bed" face à une plage paradisiaque turquoise, une grande piscine qui donne sur la mer, un plus petit bassin donnant de l'autre côté de la plage, une salle de sport, un terrain de foot, un terrain de volley, une salle de jeux (baby-foot, billard, ping-pong, fléchettes), une boutique de souvenir, un centre médical où vous pouvez faire un test PCR pour 50$ (résultats disponibles le lendemain matin). Par ailleurs, plusieurs activités en extra sont proposées (paddle, plongée sous-marine, jet-ski, shooting photo, shooting avec drône, spa...). Ces activités sont onéreuses mais loin d'être les plus chères comparé à d'autres resorts. Autre mention spéciale pour le buffet à volonté proposant pas moins d'une vingtaine de plats (indien, italien, français) d'une qualité incroyable. On pensait s'en lasser mais bien au contraire, car les plats changeaient tous les jours (du petit déjeuner au dîner). On y mange les pieds dans le sable et le chef (un français) passe souvent pour s'assurer que tout est ok. Au bout de 7 jours nous avions prévu de faire un autre hôtel (Adaaran Prestige Vadoo) pour changer. Ce dernier était plus onéreux (petit déjeuner inclus) mais ne faisait pas le poids comparé à celui-ci. Aussitôt arrivés, nous étions déjà nostalgique du Veligandu tellement la barre était haute. Merci encore à l'équipe, nous avons passés un moment inoubliable.

Malediven optimal

Es gibt die Malediven und es gibt Veligandu Island. Hier ist ein Optimum erreicht, was die Größe der Anlage betrifft.
Nicht zu groß, aber auch nicht zu klein. Dadurch ist alles vorhanden, was man bei einem erholsamen Maledivenurlaub erwartet. Es gibt alle Aktivitäten, die man sich nur vorstellen kann, mehrere Restaurants, einen SPA- und Fitnessbereich, Wasser - und Strandvillen, usw. WLAN ist überall vorhanden und stabil.

Das Personal ist sehr professionell und in ausreichender Anzahl vorhanden.

Die Gäste sind - jedenfalls bei unserem Aufenthalt- sehr zivilisiert und von nervigen Russen, keine Spur. Da tauchen doch eher mal die selbstdarstellenden deutschsprachigen Gäste auf.

Als kleiner Punkt, mehr als Randnotiz: die Anlage ist etwas renovierungsbedürftig, was auch bereits in Angriff genommen wird.
