Tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer este Centro de Interpretación y ha sido una de las visitas más enriquecedoras que hemos tenido en nuestra vida cultural. Es un gran Homenaje a todos los aviadores de la República y la Srta. Mar (que fue nuestra guia) demostró una gran profesionalidad con sus explicaciones. Visitamos el Centro y el refugio que hay adyacente, así como los monolitos en memoria de El Vesper de la Gloriosa. Se percibe el interés que han puesto sus promotores en honrar la Memoria Histórica.
La visita es un regalo para el Alma!!!! Totalmente recomendable!!!!

Llegamos a la visita guiada con 20 minutos de retraso, con lo que tuvimos que acortarla por indicaciones de la guía. La visita fue interesante y las explicaciones bién documentadas.
Recomendable llegar con antelación a la hora convenida con la guía. No alargan la visita.

Mar (la guía) hizo una visita muy completa y entretenida.
No se hizo para nada pesada y culturalmente muy enriquecedora.
Recomendable 100%.

We found this museum by accident. Not much is told about the Spanish civil war. But this small museum gives you a look in that roaring time. You can see that someone with passion created this museum. It's well maintained and clean. A lot of the information is in Catalan but you can manage with all the photos, documents and pictures. A lot of those items which I've never seen before. Outside of the museum which was build on the foundations of the old airfield, which served the republic, are tiles which give you a good insight about what happend there. Furthermore you can find a monument for all the pilots and crew. And you can visit the old bomshelter of the airfield which is still there.
If you are interested I would recommend you to visit.

Ha sido todo un descubrimiento. No sabíamos nada de este lugar y a través de Google y buscando visitas en familia por la zona de Vilafranca del penedes nos deriva a este sitio. Muy interesante la visita previa reserva, la guía super amable y las explicaciones geniales. Instalaciones curiosas al interior de los Bunkers. Entorno estupendo y hemos acabado 13 personas con una tasta de comida de la época de la guerra. Posibilidad de hacer otras actividades en el mismo lugar y en otras ubicaciones de los mismos espacios sobre la interpretación de la aviación republicana y la guerra aérea.

A little way out of the town, the museum is in a hangar-like structure set among vineyards which were once an airfield from which Spanish Republican fighters took off to try and intercept Italian bombers en route to attack Catalonia.
Inside the museum, there are displays about the structure of the Air Force, the aircraft it had under its command and the men who flew the planes. There is a super film which reproduces the day that the airfield was attacked by German Messerschmitt BF 109s in a ground attack role. During this surprise attack several aircraft were destroyed and personnel seriously wounded. The film combines a recreation of the events using real actors with computer generated graphics showing the attack under way. The commentary is in both Catalan and English (and probably Spanish too, but I didn't watch it a third time).
There are scale models of the most famous aircraft that the legitimate government of the Republic had access to in its conflict against the rebellious generals under Franco (and his Italian and Nazi allies). These include the Poliakov i-15 a biplane (fighter) known affectionately as the "Chata" (Snub nosed one) and the Poliakov I-16 an advanced single winged fighter given the nickname "La Mosca" (The Fly) because of its excellent maneuverability. There is also a reproduction, at full scale, of the cockpit of one of the aircraft, in which you can sit and see how the sights for the guns worked.
However, the pride of place in the visit is the incredibly well preserved air raid shelter which descends deep underground and which saved lives, especially on the day the airfield was attacked, as featured in the aforementioned film. A visit to this bunker really brings home to you the emotions that must have been running through the men and women who ran the airfield. It is so easy to imagine being down in the depths of the earth and hearing the distant explosions and the rattle of gunfire above you, helpless to do anything but hope that the shelter held.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and some spoke reasonable English.
Altogether a fascinating visit for those aware of the conflict and an eye opener for those who only have the vaguest notions of the Spanish Civil War and its aftermath.

Hemos visitado esta mañana este diferente y entretenido lugar.
Se trata de una visita interesantísima en la que hemos aprendido un montón sobre aviación en general y también sobre su papel durante la Guerra Civil española.
Hemos tenido la suerte de que Pau nos haya acompañado en nuestra visita pues posee unos grandes conocimientos del tema y muestra una gran pasión en sus explicaciones.
Una buena manera de pasar la mañana del domingo.
Se trata de una visita interesantísima en la que hemos aprendido un montón sobre aviación en general y también sobre su papel durante la Guerra Civil española.
Hemos tenido la suerte de que Pau nos haya acompañado en nuestra visita pues posee unos grandes conocimientos del tema y muestra una gran pasión en sus explicaciones.

Excelente recorrido didactico y emocional sobre uno de los escenarios mas desconocidos de la gerra civil española -la aviacion- se visita un pequeño hangar donde de forma muy clara y concisa se muestran maquetas, documentos planos repreentacion y un audiovisual generado por ordenar magnifico sobre los ataques de la aviacion golpista sobre la zona. Mencion a parteel refugio antiaereo muy bien conservado y sobre todo las explicaciones de la guia acompañente tanto en la exposicion como en el refugio

Una visita interesantisimo muy bien estructurada entre un pequeño hangar de viacion donde se exponen documentos, maquetas diagramas y un audiovisual magnifico. No hay ningun tipo de manipulacion politica, unicamente se exponen las circunsatancia que se dieron en esa zona debido a que la orografia del terreno(El Penedes) permitio contruir aereopuerto y desarroyar unos hechos que se expican. La visitaal refugio, muy bien conservado magnifica asi como las explicaciones dentro del hangar como en el refugio . en hora buena por conservar la historia para que no se repita
