Checking out the park for the first time. Saw duck and geese in the ponds. Nice area to walk with younger kids. Kids enjoyed the playground outside the center.

Emily oaks is a perfect place to spend with family or friends. Walking the trails, seeing the wilderness and fresh air is all you need on a warm spring or summer day! The park is great for children up to 14 and the views and amazing!!

For over 20 years, I lived less than a mile from Emily Oaks and didn't know it was there. Now, I go a few times every month, all year long. There is something for everyone. A great place to stroll, quiet trails (Look at the wildflowers or rent snowshoes!) Volunteer with friendly people, take advantage of park district sponsored classes & events, or take the kids to the playground.

Emily Oaks in Skokie is truly a jewel in the north Chicago suburbs. A one-time neighborhood park with a skating pond, over the years it has been converted to a nature preserve that provides a wide variety of flora and fauna. Owned and maintained by the Skokie Park District, it has a facility for programming and rental space that sits overlooking one end of the pond. Paths are marked and the entire area has a sense of tranquility and information. Since its off the beaten path, it is largely unknown to other than locals. Good parking.

You will see deer and fish and turtles. It like 15 minutes to walk around. Very green. Its great anytime of year

I discovered Emily Oaks about 10 years ago. I sometimes go with my wife, but more often alone on the way home. I find this place to be a get-away from the stress of the city. By the time I return to my car, I feel as though I have been away for a few days. The walkways, the trails, the small lake. You won't believe you are still in Skokie.
There is a field house that sponsors activities, camping overnighters for kids and parents, and an annual pancake breakfast. Halloween events with lighted trees and costume events for kids. Great place for a stroll or a romantic walk in the woods.

Emily Oaks is a wonderful place to walk, look, take photos, and just relax. It is a peaceful nature oasis that's brimming with birds, animals, ponds, trees and plantings, plus a beautiful nature center that often is home to photo shows and great discussion groups.

I would like to know how to register for the Aug. Fox River Canoe trip on line or by mail. I have not been able to find the registration from on the Skokie Park District Web. Please send me a registration form.
