Soon to be demolished (but hopefully re-opening elsewhere in Sydney), the speedway makes for a great night. There's always a long program of races for $30 but the special nights with demolition derbies are particularly good. There's a hill around much of the track that's good to sit on and the alcohol is cheap (although it runs out). Easy walk from Clyde station, parking is limited.

We picked up some promo tickets a few weeks ago and kids under 12 are free, so we thought - why not?! We often hear the sound of the speedway from our place, depending on which way the wind is blowing, and have always meant to get there. Finally we did! It's a great, fun, family friendly place to take the fam. It's loud and dusty, which is what makes it so fun. The kids LOVED it! A few tips - don't sit on the bottom seats of the grandstand unless you like eating dust and gravel; bring ear muffs for the kids to help dampen the noise; bring safety glasses to stop dirt etc getting on your eyes. We'll be back!

it is some time since i attended unfortunately it is for cars no solos or sidecars as a competitor back in the 60s and 70s at the speedway royal sydney showground and other venues i am more a bike fan rhan cars but yes it is a good night out

She (19years old ) heard the sounds and wanted to go there I told her it was called the Sydney Speedway and she enjoyed a 12 dollar cocktail with a night of fast cars all revving their motors I was surprised to think that she would love the speedway however she did so good night had by all.

If you are going to speedway and its a big night go very early to get a good place to park as the parks inside fill up quick. Too make the night a bit cheaper bring the esky with food and drinks just no grog allowed. The food line can take up to 30mins for hot chips so bring some food. But the seating in the grandstand is great or spread out the blanket on the grassy hill. The racing is 1st class hard and fast and they keep the program moving....A great night out

This speedway is a great place for those who like their motor sport up close and loud. In the past few years they have made some rather substantial improvements, especially with spectator safety. It's loud, dusty and unpredictable but that is one of the great attractions of the place. Sitting on the grassy hill and eating fast food just adds to what is a great experience.

Really enjoy Saturday night skids at Sydney Speedway. I first went there in the late seventies and was a regular visitor when I lived in Sydney. On my trips to Sydney I always try to squeeze in a sprintcar show. In fact I will once again be in Sydney for this years opening night on September 30. This is a great value night of family entertainment in a well run venue that the promoters are continually upgrading. Great racing good food offer and easily accessed by car or public transport. Some of the best weekly sprintcar racing outside of the USA.

It wasn't a big meeting, but any meeting there is a great meeting to see. The best catering I've ever experienced at any race meet I've been to.

Being a regular to Parramatta City Raceway back in the day as a photographer for big events it was exciting to return recently with my retired parents for the Australian Sprintcar Championship.
Upon arriving at the venue it was noticeable the many upgrades that have been done in the past 10 years since I last attended.
Electronic ticketing, new merchandise shop, new food outlets were all things that greeted us in the forecourt of the venue. The merchandise shop is now fully air conditioned and a great place to walk into and spend money.
We booked our seats at online at their ticket site and it was easy to print our tickets out and present at the venue. Our seats were among the grandstand which allowed general admission tickets but our seats were marked with reserved stickers for the 3 nights of the event.

I've never been before. What is the seating like in the grandstand? Are the seats reserved or do you just grab your own. If they are not reserved what time would you have to get there to get seats?

Big grandstand grab a seat and just like a plastic chair without the legs, bolted to wooden planks. Can get a bit sore take a cushion for padding on chair and enjoy the racing. Get there about 4.30pm for a good park and seat.
