We had a lovely day tour the Beaujolais region of France. This vineyard was beautiful and we had a lovely host taking us through and we greatly enjoyed our wine tasting.

We visited as part of a Viking tour and thoroughly enjoyed both the knowledge of our guide and the tasting of the wine. We had never really taken Beaujolais seriously before, but after our tour we realized that it thoroughly captures the essence of the region, bright, cheery, and made to enjoy.

Le Cadre est très agréable on s’y sent bien beaucoup d’espace , on est vraiment à côté du village, l’entrée est d’ailleurs proche de l’église

During our tour of the region we were taken here and like previous reviewers we were on a Viking River Cruise. The local guide was very informative and assisted the vineyard staff in explaining how the wine is made in this area. The history of the Chateau was interesting also.

This was our Beaujolais wine excursion from Lyon courtesy of Viking River cruises. Driving through a lovely region of rows and rows of grapevines, we arrived at the Chateau des Ravatys for our wine tasting and lesson. What is remarkable about this winery is that the proceeds from sales and any chateau activities is donated to the Pasteur Institute of Paris which supports research in the service of men and their health. Apparently the chateau and vineyard was bequeathed to the Pasteur Institute. I wished that I had taken photos in the wine cellar, it was really lovely with all the stone work so different from wineries in the United States. We had a fun tasting session with our tour guide - the winery staff helping her really didn't speak any English. We tasted several whites and reds. To be honest, I really care for any of the wines. I'm not a wine expert but I know what I like. I did take a picture of the Chateau and we could use the restrooms located in the Chateau and it was quite lovely.
