The marker is not anything to go out of you way to see and the information it contains about Daniel Boone can easily be found on the web. However if you happen to be walking at the college square it is worth a read.

The Trace ran from Cumberland Gap to Fort Boonesborough.The “Daniel Boone’s Trace” marker is one of four Kentucky Historical Society markers at this site; all of which relate to Boone Trace. The other three markers commemorate Twitty’s Fort, Estill Station, and historic sites in Madison County, including Boone Trace. In addition, a marker placed by the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1915 is located here, which is among fourteen such markers along Boone Trace.

Having just returned from Virginia and the 35 mile Creeper Trail I have first-hand knowledge and experience not only on the significance of historical artifacts but also what makes an exciting and stimulating bike trail. This marker is one in a series of historical markers through central Kentucky.

This summer, I have become some sort of a Daniel Boone expert. This marker in historic Berea is only 1 one 3 placed by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Situated under a large tree on the College Square, you may not know what it is at first. However, up close, I actually get a taste of Berea's history and I channel the pioneer Daniel Boone as he trail-blazed through Berea and established a path to be followed. The Boone Trace Trail is key to Kentucky's opening to the west.
I enjoy finding these markers along the trace. As you spot them, you'll begin to understand history more so than you already do.

Yes it's just a marker to be sure but so important and not to be missed.
Part of the famous Boone Trail it's a fitting tribute to a national pioneer and leader.
Located across from Boone Tavern do stop by for a picture and some quiet reflection on the meaning of Leader. Enjoy!

The markers are a good stop for an educational experience. It was one of Daniel Boone's markers.. It marks the path the pioneer Daniel Boone took to open the state of Kentucky .

Hi there folks- I saw what many of you wrote about the Daniel Boone marker. My family is related to Daniel's younger brother and we are coming for the first time to the area from the West Coast, to find any and all traces of these ancestors. We're going to Boonesborough to the Gathering of Descendants in a couple weekends, and we just wanted to ask if anyone would share their opinions of "can't miss" historical attractions. Thanks much!
