Nice calm spot in the center of beautiful Bowling Green. I love the huge fountain in the center of the park. I also like the iron planters with flower arrangements. Free parking surrounding the park is also a win!

We had previously visited Fountain Square Park in the evening. This time it was a (very warm) daytime visit. The fountain is nice and it’s a great area to sit or take walk & provides a green space.

Since the Downtown Park has been refurbished and a little redesigned It is well worth a revisit. The downtown Bowling Green area is looking fresh and perky. With redesigned roads corners and brick areas. The plantings are much improved and the walking areas are much better lite.

Since the weather turned springlike we expected this fountain to be running. They really pump it up on the internet. The fountain was not running and green stagnant water sat in the resevoir. I couldn't even get a decent picture without the green water. I think it is really a beautiful fountain when they have it running.

This is great in the heart of downtown. Very nice little park to sit and take in the sights. The fountain is also very relaxing.

The park and work that went into this place are very well done. In it's time, we're sure it was well-attended. Currently, most of the shops & building are vacant.

This is a cute little park in the middle of downtown. There are sculptures, statues and flowers. It was quiet and a nice area to walk through.

Bowling Green has an appealing historic downtown. The two-acre Fountain Square Park is surrounded by two and three-storied historic brick buildings with the oldest dating to 1837.
A large fountain dominates the center of the square. In the park, you will find statues, benches, and well-kept greenery. It makes the perfect place for a little scenic quiet time.
Bordering the park are ground-level shops and financial offices. Stores include records, cigars, antiques, jewelry, furnishings, brewery, bakery, gallery, restaurants, and a couple of pubs.
Two shops with a lot of charm and good taste include the Golden Farley Men’s Wear and Mary Jane’s Chocolates.
Proprietor Larry Stewart, of Golden Farley, has been there since 1958 and his store is a sharp-looking throwback showing class and style. He is always smartly dressed and ready to show you his clothes.
Mary Jane cheerfully explained her house-made chocolates. Being in Kentucky she had me try her creamy and smooth bourbon-infused truffle. Meeting people like her while traveling is part of the fun!
Located on the square showing a bright marque is the Capitol Arts Center that had its start as a vaudeville house in the 1890s. This historic theatre is still active with shows, concerts, events, and Friday night movies.

We really enjoyed exploring this area on a quiet Sunday morning. The park is well landscaped and maintained, and the buildings in the area were beautiful. We enjoyed walking a block to the Old Courthouse and learning about its history.
